chbrow10
I have a 10 year old son named Carter. He shoots USPSA with me and his older brother, but his real passion is the rifle. After getting pretty good hitting 10x14 steel plates at 100 yards with a Marlin 60 with teeny tiny iron sights, he expressed an interest in long range centerfire rifle shooting. He set a got for himself to hit the steel gong my club has at 270 yards. The plate is about 12 x 12 or so. To make a long story short, after about 2 sessions with the rifle shooting about 15 or so rounds each session, we went yesterday afternoon. In fading light, we walked him out from 100 yds. He shot another group at paper targets at 200 yds and 270 yds to get scope adjustment, then shot at the gong. By the time he was shooting at the gong, we were loosing the light pretty fast and the target was in full shadow. He missed his first shot, then started hitting it every time. I bet he only missed once or twice after that. I'm pretty proud

h2osport
That is great for a 10 year old to learn the discipline of long range shooting. Will serve him well in all of his future shooting. Randy
