Forrest Halley Posted January 13, 2011 Share Posted January 13, 2011 Did a search and came back empty so here goes... Which is more preferable to use a slide mounted or a frame mounted red dot? Just think...the slide ride will take a extremely forceful ride backward and forward for every bullet shot fired...it's got to take a toll on the sight eventually. calishootr Posted January 13, 2011 Share Posted January 13, 2011 I have had frame mounted tasco pdp 2/3's and C-more's and one time i pulled the C-more to put in a melted optima on the slide, and to be honest, the only problem that made me pull the thing off was the re-zero the thing everytime you pulled it off to change a battery....depending on how effective the comp is, there really isnt a whole lot of noticable difference between the two, like was said earlier, the slide ride may take more of a beating on the slide vs. the frame mounting...
