rjennings10
Go to EAACORP.com and purchase one of their caliber conversion kits for the limited. http://www.eaacorp.com/parts-hand-gun-conversion-kits.html Go to witness 9mm and click on the drop button and go down to "Longslide with Super Sight Blue" Price: $285 Then all you need is several mags. Sometimes the slide the frame fit may be a bit tight so you will have to buff the slide rails, but my friend has not had a problem with his. I started off with the limited 9mm and love it. But I would like to purchase a 40 conversion kit. If you are interested in selling your whole top end let me know!
JCB
Hi From what I´ve been told, you can use a 9mm barrel with a .40 slide, so you just need to buy a 9mm barrel and mags. I had a Limited 9mm and switched to .40 + 9mm barrel. I just havent got the time to test it yet. The Swedish distributor told me that a .40 barrel with 9mm slide would not work for the .40 case. But that the .40 slide would take the 9mm case. So about a month ago I changed the gun to .40 and got hold of a 9mm barrel two weeks ago. And not the gun is for trigger upgrade, so when it gets back, I´ll test it out. Jostein
rjennings10
I would call EAA before you do anything.
JCB
While we are in the subject of different caliber for same gun. I see that you also can buy .38SA at a kit with barrel and slide. The actual frame is the same on a Limited Custom and the Gold Eric right, as long as both is a large frame. The Gold Eric is more than twice the price of a Limited Custom. But what about having a .38 top. That way, you also have the same trigger every time. In one way the thought of one gun with several options is appealing to me. My Limited is now getting prepped with flat trigger, egw sear and hammer and a complete trigger job. But don´t know if it would work good, I hear a lot of people say the Tanfo .38 can be tricky. Any ideas? JB
JCB
Just wanted to confirm that it works. Yesterday I was trying this, a 9mm barrel in my Limited Custom .40S&W. I juste changed the barrel and the magazine, nothing else. I tried several mags with any kind of problems or not. Best regards Jostein

JCB
Yupp, no problems at all so far. Since I was shooting MIO this weekend it´s been most .40 these days. But my intension is to use 9mm for practise and .40 competition. My slide is also with original extractor spring, and still work fine. I will try the WOLFF +20% spring also, guess it wont be a problem either, since it will give a better grip than standard. I just got my .22 kit also that fitted to the gun by the Olav at Pedersen Vaabenlager, he also made my trigger, flat trigger-sear-hammer and pins, LUUUUUUV IT! Hoping to try the .22 kit this week. So next is a open gun on my menu

I'm surprised you had no extraction problems? TIA Sal Edited November 26, 2010 by Sal1950
JCB
So far no problems... Actually, when I had the same gun just i 9mm I had more problems. Had problems with chambering. Some brands of ammo I had to make shorter and stuff. I had a .22 kit mounted also, but that I gave up. A lot of feeding problem. But 9mm works fine. I might buy a slide if I find one cheap, just to have the barrel pre mounted and making the switch quicker... but thats no rush. From what I can see on manufactors webpage, www.tanfoglio.it, they have kits with and with out slide...
Sal1950
OK, thanks JCB, One more quick question if you don't mind, You have the 9mm mags with the spacer in front or back? TIA, Sal
JCB
I have two chrome with no spacer and one black with spacer in front. I have just used the chrome so far. I can try out with the other also next time.
JCB
Just a little follow up.... Have had some extraction problems. Today I got out maybe 300 shots and 3-4 ejection problems. I still havent got my finger out and changed the spring, so not sure if that is... But for practise and plinking, no problem. Kinda like that training is not pain free all the time, match is also not pain free usually Going to change the extractor spring, see if that helps. In the start I had none. The 40 was also new, maybe spring is loser, maybe extractor is dirty or a little more worn than new... bad brass... not sure.
Lloydpt
I have a 10mm slide that I shoot 9mm and 38 super with without a single extraction problem. Or any other problem for that matter. I regrett buying the 9mm slide for my other pistol. I just stay with 10mm for everything but .45 now.
USAFA82
Lloydpt, Do you use different recoil springs when you switch barrels? If so, which weights do you prefer with which calibre? I have a "large" frame Tanfoglio in 45 and a "narrow" frame in 9mm. Thanks to all for confirming my suspicions!
