soaringf22 Posted February 20, 2011 Share Posted February 20, 2011 well i must say the ar platform and that 223 cartridge may bot be adequate. i beg to differ there are plenty of people who would disagree if they still had the ability, use 77gr bthp and its a dandy round out to 600+ yards. now playing devils advocate the .243 might be a good choice on an AR platform long distance and heavier bullets but not the weight of .308. the AR platfor has good CQB qualities and can really stretch the envelope on longer shots. is it perfect no, versatile yes. not trying to hijack the board but what if this topic was also done with which uspsa/3 gun would you use, limited or open. rifle/shotgun/handgun? im just curious if people would have their sidearm with cmore optics and what not? maybe another poll.
