LIKE2SHOOT
I have a STI in 40 cal, It has 9 ports on the comp. Looking for a good load for this gun. Have shot 180 grain with 5.9 of universal, but the comp seems to be not working well. I don't know . Any suggestions?
BLUTO
I had good luck with 165gr JHP over 6.0 of 7625. Granted that's a weight and powder change for you but it does make the comp work and hits PF with about 5 to spare.
PINMAN44
Hey I use a 135 gr rainier with 8.5 grains of LONGSHOT nice and slow and works my 4 port comp well. Hope this helps Robby
G-ManBart
Go lighter on the bullet (135s) and slower on the powder...about the only options you have. R,
PINMAN44
I would use the rainiers because they are the best bang for the buck as far as 135's go that hold up. I use berry's occasionally but loaded lighter for steel. my gun seems to like all bullets 135,155,165, 185, and 200's but all guns are different. 135's are great! rupie
I have tried them all with a comp 135's are the best by far!
JerryKee
all the above post are right about going to the lighter bullet.. it was the same princpal when shooting the 45 comp guns .. lighter bullet more gas better the comp works... I have been running bulletworks lswc 155gr and they are awesome out of my 5" para or my 6" sti. limited of course... J.Kee
RiggerJJ
played with a lot of loads, came up with 155gn fmjs over HS-6 as the bestest for me... jj
