Garrett
I thought I remember reading a few years ago that a company (Armscor maybe?) was going to offer factory .38 Super loaded to Major PF. Did this ever actually happen, and is it available? Yes - I know that loads are typically tailored to the individual gun. But this is a short-term solution. I started a new job and moved to a new state. Until my old house sells and I buy a new one, we're living in an apartment and a big chunk of our stuff is in storage. Anticipating being without reloading equipment for a number of months, I loaded up all of the .38 Super brass I had on hand, as well as a bunch of other calibers. And then when the movers unloaded the truck, they promptly buried all of my ammo, which was in the rear of the storage unit. So is factory Major .38 Super available, or should I just buy a case of standard pressure Super and shoot minor until I move?
GrumpyOne
I wouldn't trust Armscor if they did make it (I've had some issues with their brass running in my gun), but Atlanta Arms and Ammo makes 38 super major and minor ammo. Quite a few people shoot it. As far as shooting minor, my super won't run anything but major. http://www.atlantaarmsandammo.com http://www.atlantaarmsandammo.com/products.html Edited July 2, 2010 by GrumpyOne

I've had good results on the few occasions I've shot factory Winchester 130 gr. (minor) loads through my gun. Of course, Major shoots flatter in it. Al Capizzo
I shot about 1k of the Atlanta Arms factory major ammo, and I really liked it. Be SURE and chrono it with your gun though, I was 164.9 pf for seven rounds at Nationals with it! Don't make assumptions.
joecichlid
Atlanta Amrs +1 but as stated test it in your gun over a chrono. Garret, this mean you won't be bringing the fun guns down to the Hole on Friday nights anymore? Hate to see you leave the area man but you gotta go where the jobs are. Joe W.
