Loki999
Hi all, Back after a nice match in Chzech republik! Who thinks it's a good idea the lighten the slide of an svi imm open? A friend of mine did it, he cut away in the back of the slide the top section? Our gunsmit told me that's not going to make a big difference and you only weaken the slide. Any experiences? ParaGunner
I'm currently having my slide lightened on my limited gun. If done correctly it should not weaken the slide. Slide lightning speeds the recoil cycle up because you will have less reciprocating mass with a lighter slide. You may also notice less recoil with a lightened slide with the correct recoil spring. Ask someone with a lightened slide if you can shoot their pistol and see if you like it and notice any difference.
lneel
An IMM Open gun slide is already a shortened slide with a big hunk of metal removed for the barrel lug. What are you trying to accomplish by lightening it more? Lee
Loki999
Hi Lee, An even lighter slide, for less recoil. But maybe it's not neccesary on the short guns
