chbrow10
I am trying out the 135 grain 9mm Bayou bullets in the Glock 34. I have W231 and Bullseye. Does anyone have a load or any data on this? I am having a hard time getting a starting point. thanks
cuzinvinny
I recently tried some of the 135 gr Bayou bullets with 3.6 and 3.8 grains of WW231. Please note this is not published data, so I suggest reducing the powder charge and working up. My results were as follows 3.6 gr WW231 - 1.125 OAL - Fed. #100 SP primer - averaged 949 fps from a 5" 1911 - temperature was about 45 to 50 degrees F - power factor is 128. 3.8 gr WW231 - 1.125 OAL - Fed. #100 SP primer - averaged 987 fps from a 5" 1911 - temperature was about 45 to 50 degrees F - power factor is 133 - Std deviation was 10.6 I tried the Bayou bullets in an effort to reduce the smoke I usually get with lead bullets. WW231 is not a good choice for reducing smoke. I have had good results with Winchester WSF powder. I expect to try some WSF with these 135 gr Bayou Bullets in the near future. I will try to remember to publish my results.
