Sprinield front sight

I just picked up a used Speingfield 1911 9mm. It seems to run pretty good but the front sight is loose. It is pinned through the blade into the slide and I want to replace it with a FO front since that is what I am used to. What are my options? To be honest I can't say I know the difference between all the different dovetails out there for the 1911's so I am not sure what I need to order.

For a f/o on a Springfield order one from Dawson for the Springfield, SA uses a wider cut on the front sight than the rest.

I got this info right from Deb at the CUstom Shop. It is a .330x.075x60 degrees. The Dawson I purchased did not work in my Springfield and I had to use the one for Kimber.

The sight that is on there is not even locked into the dovetail. It moves up and down a little on the roll pin. Ahhhhhh, the joys of used gun.

For which Springfield? Mine is a Loaded 9mm with the Novak fixed rear sight. Also was yours pinned?

I used the springfield Dawson FO sight for the adjustable rear with my loaded SA. It was undersized so i had to beat up the rails a little bit, used some loctite and pressed it in. It's been working, but I would have preferred to stone off some material.

If the Kimber sight is a better fit - i'd go for that one.

My SA .45 has the EGW FO sight-

fit like a glove!

can't remember which Dawson i used, but it's a good fit.
