3quartertime
Any views on the new Kid Rock CD??? It ain't the same,,,but is it cool??? Guarenteed if you thought you had heard Kid Rock this one will surprize you...The cat can sing!!! Did the American Bad Ass burn out??? It was so different I had to listen to it several times before I could even enjoy it... Took it to a girls house that really digs indie music,,,she hated it,,,said it was all done before,,,and better!!! I guess Kid did lots of the guitar work,,,lots of funky riffs... Black Bob is a good one,,, Cadillac P is good with Hank,,, Like the David Allen Coe input too!!! Waddaya think???
rhino
Does it have the country song he did with Sheryl Crow?
uscbigdawg
Rhino, No that's a single that was released after the previous album. The saw is on the previous album but recorded with someone else (I could have this backwards). The new album is very, very Bob Seeger & Skynard. Flexmoney
I haven't heard it yet. He is on VH-1 (on stage) right now though. Sounds like some decent southern-fried rock from what I can tell. Different...but not unexpected. Didn't he do so work with Hank Jr. a while back?
Flexmoney
OK... This Kid Rock special is tearing me up... They must be a Kid's parent's house in that "state up north". Jesse James (from Monster Garage) is there...and Hank Williams Jr. brought a wild turkey from his farm. These three are playing Betty Crocker with the turkey and a deep fryer. rhino
That little party needed a little dose of The Nuge!
uscbigdawg
rhino, That would have been AWWWWWWWWESOME!!!!! Heck they're in Michigan (Kid's parents) and Ted isn't that far away from Taylor. Can you see that picture: Kid Rock, Jesse James, Hank Williams, Jr., Waylon Jennings, Jr. and Ted Nugent. Rich
3quartertime
Maaaaaannn,,, I hate it when they put good crap on TV,,,the other crap camoflages it too well!!! Missed it. There is a song that he wrote and sings with S. Crowe. 'Run off to LA' Also a couple other guess artists that are cool,,, Kenny Wayne Sheperd- Lead Guitar on 'Black Bob' Billy Gibbons- Guest vocal & beer on ' Hillbilly Stomp' David Allen Coe- Co written by on 'Single Father' The Seger song he covers is 'Hard Night for Sarah',,, Guess it was one that Uncle Bob cut from one of his albums. The more I listen to it it's growing on me.
Sixgun
My sis-in-law got me that album for Christmas, BUT it's the edited version. Would I be better off returning it for the "full lyric" version? The local radio station played some tracks off of it when Kid was in studio. It sounded awesome! (I really like rockabilly style music!) Ray C.
3quartertime
Not sure what they edited out, but to me part of the fun of listening to Kid are his crazy in your face lyrics. I passed on the edited version because of that. That said compared to the last CD 'Cocky' this is definitly Kid Rock lite, so depending on what they cut you may not notice a big difference.
