  1. Do you have any dummy rounds? If you do you can load it up, pull the trigger, cycle it by hand, etc. to watch what is happening. A disconector not holding might become obvious while hand cycling if you keep the trigger held back while you open/close the action, then release the trigger.

  2. If you are using a mag tube clamp here's a helpful hint for reassembling the gun to avoid undue barrel pressure from the clamp (All the non-clampers can skip the rest and proceed with your day):

Remove the mag tube extension from the coupling nut (or at least unscrew it about half way). Assemble the gun and screw the coupling nut on tight against the forearm. Screw the mag tube extension into place until it stops, then back it off about 1/8 turn (the goal is to allow the mag tube extension to have just a little movement). Install the clamp and tighten the screws (reasonably tight is good enough, no need to get heavy handed and crank too hard). Install the follower, spring and mag tube end cap.

Again, the goal is to allow the mag tube extension to have just a little movement so any pressure the clamp exerts moves the tube, not the barrel.

Gun is 8 months old by now have about 1500-2000 thru gun. Mods are as follows light trigger springs by taran tactical there are 2 of them in not sure exactly which 2 there called. I have opened up loading port myself I think I did a good job. Sanded and polished the magazine tube. +9 Moa tube with moa follower . It happens with all ammo I switched to Winchester AA exclusively and thought I cured problem but it's back I can't find any trends that's what's driving me nuts . I normally run the gun very wet with lube but I'm going to try running it dry at match tomorrow and see what happens. Extractor seems smooth no rough edges. I did have the inertia spring break and replaced with benelli spring which is 1 coil longer because no one had stoeger spring in stock I thought this may be problem but not sure how the system really even works. I store gun with bolt closed usually clean every other match about 200 rounds. All my ammo is 3 dram 1 1/8 oz minimum 1200 but like to get 1250-1300 7 1/2 buckshot. Winchester AA  and the cheap Walmart winchester federal not good in my gun I have a whole different issue with that crap which is fte but switching to Winchester fixed that problem. This click problem has happend about 15 times at 6-7 matches so far has cost me many matches

Did the issue happen before the inertia spring change?

Is the bolt fully closing, then bouncing back open when cycling at full speed? Hand cycle a few rounds to make sure the bolt is fully closing (watch the extractor position to know if the bolt rotates into battery when you cycle by hand)

  4. That is more extra length than I've noticed with the C-Rums modified carriers I have used.

You mentioned the loading port being opened...Is the follower being stopped at the end of the magazine tube/receiver - or is the follower coming out of the mag tube and being stopped by the shell latch as the last shell is being cycled?

  5. How much “extra” length does the follower or carrier have?

If its just a little (maybe 1/16” or so) then grind just a little length (aka “just enough”) off the end of the carrier/lifter so it just clears the follower. I've had to do this on a few 930s when installing extended lifters.

  6. This is my understanding of the Super X triggers:

1st style grooved face, adjustable, dual hammer springs

2nd style grooved face, adjustable, single hammer spring

3rd style smooth face, not adjustable

(The 1st and 2nd style triggers are the same, just a change in the hammer spring design)

Old posts, not sure if anyone is still available to offer assistance?

I installed DMW easy lifter, it wasn't hard.

Issues u am encountering, it seems to lock back on empty. Loaded and manually cycling exposes these issues.

    1) a shell will pop half out of the mag tube locking up the action.
    2) I've installed a shorter mag tube and spring it still happens.
    3) I've installed a plus 9 tube and it's spring it still happens, I've trimmed 4 inches off the spring, it seems slightly better. Though still not correct.
4)Some rounds in a manual cycling seem to not loft up to the breech and hamg up the action.
    5) This issue has always been present, some times the bolt is hard to open when the gun has been fired, you'll have to pull real hard to cycle and clear the spent case.

    Any help would be appreciated.

This is a Premium Slug Gun, the ports were slightly drilled out to cycle low brass and cheap wally rounds, in practice it's 100% reliable yet in a match it acts up.

    Thank you

  8. Is the pin hollow or a solid pin? All the left hand guns I've seen had a solid pin with a retaining clip.

Don't push the pin up from outside the receiver (as you've noted it cannot go very far). Push the pin down from inside the receiver - but first remove the clip in that groove in the side of the receiver. Next with a small hooked wire (or better yet, a dental pick) push the pin down from inside the receiver.

  9. Unscrew the factory bead (righty tighty, lefty loosey) then install your favorite bead with a 3-56 threaded shank or screw. The Hi-Viz Comp or Tri Comp is very popular.

(The Benelli bead is actually a metric size thread, the more common 3-56 thread size will fit right in the hole in the rib)

Cut the barrel, re-thread it properly?

Notice how the barrel diameter decreases behind the choke tube?   If you cut off the barrel you may not be able to retread it, definitely  not for the original choke tubes.

I would contact Benelli again. The 1st response noted above would be unacceptable to me.

  11. If the gun is all original it is a .300 H&H Magnum. As noted the .300 Winchester Magnum did not come out until 1963.

(Does your rifle still have its original barrel? Has it been re-chambered at some time? Those questions may change the answer to you question)

I recently took my trigger group out for the first time to clean and lube it.  Went to the range yesterday and the first 16 rounds with federal (walmart bulk pack) ran fine.  I put Winchester AA in and the second shell came 1/2 to 3/4 out the mag tube onto the lifter and got stuck there.  If I pushed the shell forward into the mag tube from the ejection port and pressed on the shell release button (little silver button to the right of the trigger) the shell would come all the way out onto the lifter.  It did that 2-3 times within 7 rounds.  I put the federals back in it and it did the same thing.  Wondering if anyone has had the same issue or if I possibly out the trigger group in wrong somehow?  Shotgun probably has around 400 rounds through it and this is the first time it has done this.

    thanks

    Brandon

Given that the first 16 rounds cycled your trigger group installation sounds OK. Check for debris (gravel, piece of shot, etc) inside the mag tube causing the follower/spring to hang up. also check the area between the shell latch and the inside of the receiver.

Another place to check that can hamper feeding is the junction of the factory mag tube and the extension. Is there a gap or ledge than can let the mag tube spring hang up? This issue can stop or limit the amount of force with which shell come out of the mag tube

Received the Competition lifter from Brownells.....same one already on the Competition model....I guess I've got an extra now....live and learn........

You can send one of those Comp lifters to Jeff at C-Rums and he will make it look just like the longer lifter in my picture above.
