I shot with Tiger this year at Area 2. Real nice guy. Wasn't shy about letting you handle his gun in the safe area. His mount is solid

Just purchased a new S2. Buddy of mine strongly recommended the Patriot Defense base pads. I'll be getting 6 of them friday.
-
I checked out Tiger's (from Tevo Sports) open gun with a Holuson 510 sight on it. The window was huge. Made for quick pick up of the dot. Their mounts for the 510 is solid.

Tripp is the only way to go. It's nice to talk to someone (Virgil or Aaron) if you have an issue. They stand behind their product 100%.

I notice the difference between the 200's compared to the 180's. To me the 180's are a bit more snappy which I like.
Brazos Gun Works wrote an article in the Front Site magazine a few issues ago which was extremely interesting.
Black and Blue Bullets make a 190 gr round nose bullet. Shot about 500 of them and my gun loves them. Problem is they are a tad expensive.
Try both and see which one you like most.

I purchased hellcats a few months ago due to my speedcross' needed replacing. I was sort of reluctant at 1st but after reading a different thread on these shoes i decided to try them.
I am pleased with them overall. I have worn them on gravel surfaces as well as Rocky surfaces. I must admit the Rocky surface made my feet sore but wearing the speedcross had the same effect.

I will only use Tripp mags for my 1911’s. Virgil and Aaron have helped me out tremendously when I had an issue.
Great folks to to talk to on the phone.

Like yourself I have a bad back. Spent 2 days in the hospital till the Dr's figured to see if I could ride it out. I'm not as competitive by no means like I used to be but I have fun.
Gonna take George16's advice and look at the support.
Go back to shooting USPSA and enjoy the time on the range.

I strictly use Tripp mags
because of their customer service. They have warranteed springs
for me that several years old

Wasn't my gun. One of the shooters just installed it the night befofe. He used a Jentra tungsten guide rod. It used a 16 lb wolf spring. Thought the spring might be to heavy but it can like a charm. They make 2 different lengths. He used the full length rod for the 34.

I shot a G34 today with a tungsten guide rod at a local USPSA match. Couldn't believe the difference it made in keeping the sights on target.

Just seen the Phoenix Trinity the other day. It looks clean with the shield.

My eye doctor is also a shooter so he did the following for me. Right eye I can see the front sight. Left eye can see a tad further. I have known folks that have tried this and it gave them a headache. According to my eye doctor you can only gradually increase the left eye.
Bifocals made me trip over my own two feet.

Just received my Red Hill Tactical in the mail Friday. Had all types of kid ex holsters. I must admit the Red Hill is top notch

Arredondo makes a plug that will limit a 140mm mag to only accept 10 rounds.
It's not permanent but with a bit of epoxy it could be

Welcome Aaron.
In north county you have a few options. Iron Sights is located in oceanside. They run a match every Thursday night. They run a steel match every 1st and 3rd Thursday. 2nd Thursday is considered steel/paper combo match. The 4th Thursday is a USPSA Match. On the last Sunday of the month they run a IDPA Match. However if you prefer to run it USPSA style there is no issue. A few folks do.
Pala/LDF runs a USPSA Match on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at Pala Indian reservation. There stages are excellent. There is also a IDPA Match at Pala held but I don' t know to much about it.
Norco Run and Gun in Norco runs a USPSA match every weekend at Prado Olympic Park. It is about 1 1/2 hours from Oceanside.

I actually purchased these before ebay showed them coming from China. There was an outfit out of L.A selling them. I thought they were making them. I use them for my production setup.
The body itself isn't to bad. The mounting bracket is less than perfect. The body is held on the bracket using a nylon bushing and screw. Would I purchase them again? Probably not. Especially knowing they come from China

I have the 7.5 on my 35 MOS. Honestly only put 100 rounds through gun. The only thing to me that looks strange is the triangle (diamond) is not straight up and down. Tip of triangle is offset. Probably would be able to get used to it. Going to shoot a buddy's 34 with a 2.5 and see which one I like better.

I have purchased 3 guns from Bob at Brazos. All 3 run like a champ. You can't go wrong with Brazos

H15-0 Thanks for the input. I know I'll have a brain fart and drop a mag when not needed.
Shot a match today in So. California. Spoke to 2 Match Directors what their plan was going to be after the law goes in effect. One is going strictly 10 rounds max to keep the range out of any litigation. Other club is on the swaying towards allowing standard cap magazines. There are many shooters starting to talk about what-when the law goes in effect. A few have even mentioned switching to Production.
Hopefully the lawsuits NRA and CRPA have started to proceed with will put a stop to this. Like many have said " you will get used to it "

I think the biggest problem for Limited/L10 shooters will be stage break down. I shot roughly 45 USPSA matches last year in Limited. I enjoy the heck going to Arizona and participating in their matches.
So If I shoot roughly 45 matches in L10 and go to Arizona and shoot Limited, I don't know if I would be able to be able to break down the stage in a productive way in a short period of time. Would like to hear someone's opinion that has done this in the past.
So my opinion would be why get rid of L10. Area 2 at Rio has allot of participants from California.

Have you tried different manufacture magazines? I had problems with the Metal Forms. Switched to Tripp and runs flawlessly. Friend of mine has a Springfield 9mm. Would jam occasionally. He used my Tripp mags with no issues.
-
I have 2 of them. Always take 1 with me when I go hunting in the event I tag out early. Everyone always ask " What's that in the back of your truck." Once you tell them they want to know where to purchase one.

Mark your brass on the sides of the case. Many folks who shot 38 SC do this so they can easily spot their brass after the stage.

I have been looking at the Decot Glasses now for a few years. I spoke with Robert at Area 2 last year and was very impressed. Read CHA-LEE's post about his purchase from them and decided to purchase a pair.
I have tried all the top manufacturers for my prescription in the past and nothing has worked so far.
Going to match Saturday and going to try them out. I always wear contacts so this will be a first.
I'll update my impression (Good-Bad or both) of them after the match. stay tuned.
