2. Sandra,

New check is in the mail. Thanks very much!

    Mark Miller

Mark: Thank you. I am looking forward to this match. Jim Smith is putting together the Spartantactical.com 3 gun page on his website and should be up and running this week. Keep an eye out there for more details. Finalizing hotel rates too for shooters. Once I know, it will be posted here as well as on his site.

hmmmm, now what about round count and distance?!!!!

  3. Anyone who has sent me a check made out to the BRMC needs to reissue me a new check made out to the Fallen Brethren 3 Gun Challange. To date, I have only received checks from Shooters!

If you are a sponsored shooter and you wrote "Sponsor" on top of our application you did not provide me a check as you sponsor is providing the "Support" for you to play in this match.

As indicated in my post, if I do not get a new check from shooters within a resonable period of time, I will send them a personal reminder as I don't want anyone to lose their spot in the match. Haveing said that, I still have slots available for those who have not yet signed up.

Thank you for asking for clarification.

  4. As indicated in the above post #109, the BRMC is no longer hosting the event, but will be assisting Jim Smith (Spartan Tactical) when/where they can. "It is with our deepest regret that the Brinson Range Marksmanship Committee will have to withdraw from the joint efforts of hosting the 2011 Fallen Brethren 3-Gun Challenge. Due to the BRMC staff composed of all Active Duty Soldiers, their mission takes precedence over any leave and/or recreational events not supported by the Army. The event will NOT be canceled, but rather transformed into an exciting and challenging Multi-Gun competition that will carry on the expectations and prominence of the FB3G.

James Smith from Spartan Tactical will continue to coordinate Sponsors, Staff, and Support to ensure a successful FB3G."

In lieu of this event, the Match Application has slightly changed and will be posted in the next day or two. The one main change is how the checks are to be addressed . A new bank account had to be establish in order to process your payment. (I know one check for you, 100+ for me to account for! B)

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU: You will need to REISSUE me a check made out to the "FALLEN BRETHREN 3 GUN CHALLENGE". You will NOT lose your spot in the match. Once the new check is received, I will shred the check made out to the Brinson Range Marksmanship Committee. I will then send a confirmation e-mail to you stating I have destroyed the old check. You do not need to overnight or Fed Ex me your check to hold your spot in the match. However, if not timely received, I will send you an e-mail as a gentle reminder :D If you have forgotten whether or not you ordered a shirt(s) please send me an e-mail, do not pm me here, and I will gladly look the information up and advise you of same.

I look forward to seeing you at the match!

  5. Ausshooter- Did you ever hear from anyone?

I've sent PM's here, emails, and PM's on Facebook about RO'ing. No response. Other than Sandra saying RO's need to fill out an app. The question was how do we know if we're RO'ing if we don't hear anything and how much, if any, money do we send in if we are?

Hello Everyone. If you plan on RO'ing, please send me your apps with RO written on the top. I have been sending out confirmations as I receive them in the mail. It is my understanding that RO's shoot for free (volunteering their time = shoot match and have fun!)

Details are being finalized...so come play.

    Sandra :D

  6. Good Morning. I have updated all apps I have received to date and have sent out confirmation e-mails. I have had several e-mails bounce back...ususally those ending with .org. So if you have NOT received your confirmation email and you think the alloted time has passed for you to receive one, please e-mail me at my personal e-mail address found on the app. PLEASE do NOT PM me on this forum.

If you are ROing, you still need to fill out an application and send it to me. Put at the top of the app in BOLD RO. Although you are ROing, I still will need to know what division you are shooting and shirt size! :D If you'd like to RO, please contact Lee DMac. You will still need to send in an application to me.

If you have a squad request, please mark it on your application clearly. Again, I will do my best to honor all requests.

    See you at the match!

    ;)

  7. Jesse,

No more ice figure skating weeks before a major match, ok? (you don't happen to have any video of that, do you?). OUCH!!!!!

I got my confirmation yesterday, also. Wooohooo! I wonder how many Sandra has gotten already?

    MLM

I still have slots available, but had trouble with the local mailman...He thought two of the packages sent to me required signature  . Waiting for those to be delivered today Just remember, today is Friday and Ms. Kitty needs a Happy Hour :D

  8. Sloppy handwriting, excessive postage and no return address......this raises flags at Homeland Security, Sandra for your safety I wouldn't open this envelope! Just saying!

Don't hate me for trying to game a slot into the match. :)

Now I'm scared. I may need my own security detail to assit with the mail! :surprise:

Seriously, I have bottle of wine chilled and letter open-er ready :D

I forgot to put my squad requests with my app. Can I just PM you that info?

    Shane

Please e-mail me at my personal account. I want to keep record of everything-being a paralegal and all!

  9. Fair enough. They're obviously free to charge whatever, but $320 for a match fee + t-shirt is over the line for a lot of would-be shooters. If it becomes the norm matches won't fill.

Anyway, I'll see you guys there.

I had this conversation with someone else just a week ago. The match entry fee really is a small portion of the overall event cost. For me it's airfare, hotel, rental car, ammo, shipping gear, food etc. A bump of $100.00 or even double the cost really doesn't make a dent for me. Of course I shoot some other matches like Bianchi that are just stupid expensive. Like paying $400.00 plus for a 4 stage pistol match. Ft. Benning previously was able to charge what it could because of the location, cost to pay the support folks (not much), fact they couldn't make a profit, knowledge the match would fill and dozens of other little money savers the Army helped out with. Now we're moving to a private facility, that requires leave and travel for all the match staff. Uncertainty about how the match will be attended, rental or purchase fees for many of those same things we used from the Army. Ft. Benning was a really unique match. Hopefully this will be every bit the quality of that match, but it's not going to be the same price.

Chuck's comments are right on target! Anybody that's had to put a match like this on the ground and run it can tell you there is no end to the cost and the time involved. I appreciate the time and financial committment this represents for the AMU Team and their families. I don't know how they plan to get the manpower for the setup, operations and tear-down, but I bet they can use some volunteers. I've really enjoyed RO'ing this match the last two years and hope to make it again in Dec.

Thank you for that. Anyone wishing to RO should contact Lee DMAC directly. :D

  10. I would love to make this one...airport times could be tight. Any idea of start time on Friday and last shot fired on Sunday? I'm assuming prize table can be proxied.

The est. time for prize table on Sunday is 3:00 pm. You can have a proxy, we will just need to know name, (permission slip type of deal) for whom you are picking up the prize...Some of you can be sneaky and may try to get to the table twice :P Just teasing....Short answer is yes...

Schedule for the match to be posted by the Powers that Be. I will try my best to get that infor out asap.

  11. Thank you DMAC!

I was asked ALOT this past weekend about the FAllen Brethern Match. It is really generating a lot of excitement! To keep matters simple, if you have questions regarding application/registration, please contact me directly at my personal e-mail sorvig@comcast.net. I check this account regularly.

FYI: I understand Daniel is working on the Website and it will be updated shortly.

  12. Good Evening. I am very excited to be a part of this match and am looking forward to seeing everyone! I will begin accepting applications August 1, 2011. I will post the application link here early next week. You will mail in your application with your check to the address on the application.

Rules: Rules will be based on the 2010 Fort Benning 3-Gun Rules. Some slight/minor modifications may be made. The rules will be posted here as soon as they are finalized.

If you are interested in being an RO, please contact DMac.

If you are interested in being a match sponsor, please contact DMac.

We are finalizing the contract for the Match Hotel. Once finalized, we will post the information here. The Match Hotel will either be in Jacksboro or Bridgeport, TX. A list of additional hotels will be posted here for your convenience.

    Stay tuned for more details!
