  1. that was the response i was looking for thank you mike Brett
  2. but these have not been addressed. will a N frame shoot factory ammo if you leave the springs alone, smooth everything up, and bob the hammer? i cannot justify spending much on a carry gun, but i like the way my 325 fits, with the exception of the hammer snagging on everything. i am mainly concerned about making sure that i can run factory ammo. Brett
  3. i have been using these with great success http://www.pistolpacking.com/httpdocs/hols...rrierMoon.shtml i have them for 40 and 45. the ones for 40 work a bit better for speed, but do not retain the moons quite as tight. i am yet to have anything fall out of either. i have some of the Shoot a moon holders also, and i like the albrights better. Brett
  4. you mean to tell me that there are people that actually sort handgun brass......... i am running all ranch products moons, but my brass is a mixed pot. some goes in tighter than others, but it is all a little "loose" in the clip. by loose i mean that there is wiggle room, there is definatley nothing going to fall out of the clip. i have to use a tool to take it all out. Brett
  5. what weight of rebound spring are you guys running in your 625's? i am running the 13 pounder in 1 gun, and the 14 in another. is the 15 the way to go.........i have caught myself skipping cylinders due to short stroking while i practice. thanks, Brett
  6. good luck guys, show them how the round guns work
  7. i agree with this one http://www.pistolpacking.com Chris did an excelent job on mine. i used it today at USPSA, my first match, and i really like the way it worked. i have been using it for idpa and for that it is great. Brett
  8. dont think there was any particular reason i hurried the purchase of this thing do ya?.....that TI gun is brutal with stronger loads see you tomorrow Brett
  9. i got my new wheel gun today. what a thing of beauty. ordered a 4 inch 625JM. i wanted to try out the Jerry grips and the gun only cost $25 more than a bare bones 625. lets start with the really good things i like. the gun feels great in the hand. the sights are alright, but i had already planned on replacing the front. big problem with this. i thought it was a pinned front only to get home and find out it isnt. i already had picked up the SDM pinned sight9 oh well Brownells and i will work that out. the grips feel nice here at home while doing some draws. i will find out about the recoil management in the morning. over all finish is nice. now for the bad things. the trigger is/ was horrible. i had a Wolff sprig kit just waiting to go into my 325pd, but then i decided that it HAD to go into the 625. that was easy enough. i still need to do some stoning, but the improvements from the springs will easily satisfy me for now. the internal machining is below my expectations. i can see all kinds of marks on just about all of the parts. everything is in place to make my first uspsa match a whole lot better though. i will try to get a range report up tomorrow after i get to work on chamfering the cylinder. over all i am pleased. Brett
  10. thank you very much, i will have to pick it up on friday. Brett
  11. what size are you guys using, i will most likely be leaving the rearr sight the stocker for now. thanks, Brett
  12. what kind of Fiber Optic fronts are you using on your Smith N frame? i am picking up a new one on friday and would like to have a new front sight waiting for it. the gold bead just doesnt work for me. also, is there any special size that i need? the gun will be the 625 JM. thanks Brett
  13. i am looking to tune up at least one, maybe two, S&W N frames. what are the essential resources to have on hand before starting? i am looking at the Jerry Kuhnhausen SHOP MANUAL for the S&W revolver and the Jerry's Trigger Job Video. are those the best? what else is suggested? Thanks
  14. do i have to be a member of any group or club to shoot this match? i am very seriously considering coming to this. Thanks Brett
  15. can you point me in the direction of where i can get more info on these matches. i have been lurking in this forum for a bit and have been bitten by the revolver bug. currently i am shooting idpa in ames and boone, but i would like to see some of the other handgun sports played out.
  16. can these methods of chamfering be done on the 325 ti cylinders? Brett
