I run Federal Bulk Pack and Wolf Slugs most of the time..
But you should tune the gun so it will run everything...Mine has been 100% after I throated it and Bolt Polish and make sure you have 4 unblocked gas ports if 21 inch or shorter barrel with stock gas system. And you can run a 1911 recoil spring for the light loads in place of the front recoil spring
-
Did not shoot mine ahead of convert but verified 3 ports before I started.
Converted my own with R&R Targets trigger guard and AR Stock adaptor,Krebs Ghost ring sights were the hard part.
very easy and great handling.Throated, mild bolt polish and it runs even the light Fed stuff no probs on #1 gas setting

I think the ARstyle safety is too much of a precision install for my skills??
next addition is the Krebs sights, guess I need to cut the rear sight blade in half to remove it ..so dang tight!
I need to figure out how to stop rotation of the front sight, torque it tighter or maybe epoxy ?
I also want less takeup in the trigger gotta work on that.
Anybody fit a Red Star trigger ?
I was at SHOT for 4 days and still missed R&R's booth, the layout sucked I must say, but there was so much to see!
-
Has anybody welded on some meat to the G2 to reduce takeup?
Or would it be better to weld a stop on the receiver?
Can a Red Star Arms trigger be fit?
Searched Saiga Forum but can't find my answer...

I can't find my charger and I need my timer tomorrow...today actually.
I was wondering if another common charger would work??
Anybody?
and yes I ordered a replacement already..

Bladewurk,
If you want a straighter trigger (mine is a Tromix) just take the trigger out, heat it up till red hot and put it in a vice and there you go...a straighter trigger. Make sure you don't go over board:-)
Tell me how it comes out...
Sincerely,
RLTW,
Scott
Came out great Thanks Busyhawk!
here's a pic...

guess I'll just buy the PRI and Dremel to fit...
I thought the lo pro adjustable gas blocks were too large to fit under a Larue 13.2?I have a Sabre Midgas 18 in barrel that is somewhat overgassed IMO,
and it has a Larue lo pro gas block but it looks too tight in there for the JP gas block with the clamp screws?
Will the PRI or Firebird fit without rubbing there is some deflection..
I need to dial the gas down...
I really like my PRI gas block, it is very small, the gas block.

That's fast. I need to practice more.
Awesome..
looks like Midway carries R& R parts now?
I really like how my saiga handles now with the R&R stock adaptor and grip conversion,
next thing will be the safety and magwell..
-
Something to note....drill from the back side. The factory button is crimped onto the stamped steel, and you want to be centered on that crimp.
Tim
great Thanks everyone!

Here are a couple of photos of one of the Saigas that R&R will be showing at the Shot in Las Vegas. All the aluminum parts that Robert builds are anodized red so they are easier to see. I don't think he is planning on offering that as an option, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Lots of different options now for Saiga shooters!
Doug
wow!
how's that stock adaptor in?
I don't see 2 screws on bottom looks clean,
Now if I could just forge a trigger straight like he does..

I left mine in the gun. I do have a few more tools around than the average guy though. I cut a block of wood to fit perfectly onto the reciever to support the back of the button, and taped (blue painters masking tape) the entire reciever to protect it while working with it. I then drilled the proper sized hole with my drill press and tapped it. Make sure to thouroghly blow away any chips/shavings and otherwise clean it realy well before puting it back together.
Thanks I think i need to take mine out so I'll keep looking for disassemly tips ..
Or an adhesive mount
-
How hard is it to disassemble my M2 to drill and tap the stock button to install this?
I lost my manual..
Should I just trade for an adhesive mount?

Can't wait to see the new AR15 style safety at SHOT
Look over all your choices before you spend your cash and make the best decision for you.Hmm, well just ordered some more parts from R & R..maybe I just need another Saiga testbed

Lots of good info, good luck on your journey.

By the way R&R already has a straight in Magwell with the release activated by the trigger finger, similar to an AR. Just got one installed on my Saiga and it is sweet! Mags are CNC milled for the mag catch slot so they are perfect. With the R&R trigger guard you can attach your favorite AR grip and the geometry for the grip, trigger, mag and release are very similar to a standard AR-15.

The Sin City Club will restart in Feb. with 1 3Gun Match per month. We may also see a some 3Gun in the new year at Desert Lakes as well. We're trying to get it scheduled so it won't conflict with the other clubs in the area. Once we figure out a plan we'll post it here in the benoverse.
Thanks to all who responded!

gonna be in Summerlin soon so thought I might get rid of some range rust... whens the next match?
-
I have an older Pro Diamond in the Armalite mount and it has been a solid backup..gonna sell it though cuz my Acog never has gone down......

Do I need a Mill or Dremel for the handguard Mods?
-
That looks a little too...angled...to fit under a LaRue. I've been playing with different adjustable gas blocks for a while now, and the only one that I've managed to fit under a LaRue was the PRI.
http://www.pri-mounts.com/mm5/merchant.mvc...de=AR15_M16_ACC
I did have to remove remove one of the "vertical" supports and thus enlarge the port directly over the adjustment section of the gas block, but it works just fine (and was quite easy to do). Get the gas block set with the handguard loose, then install and tighten the two handguard mounting bolts
Here is a cruddy picture of how it turned out, PRI adjustable gas block on a mid-length 18" barrel under a LaRue handguard (the rifle works great with a titanium carrier and a full-weight buffer...with the gas dialed WAY back)
That looks like my rifle! I have an 18 inch Sabre Defense fluted barrel under a 13.2 Larue...
I'm gonna have to do this..

This has been talked about before.....
I've got a few CCDN mags and the first thing I do is.....check to see if they fit and drop free out of my gun, then cut about 3 or 4 coils off, and then replace the follower with a CMMG stn stl follower......pretty much function from that point on.
Which CDNN Mags? Regular or "Premium"?
Follower sticking in tube of M2
in Shotgun - Technical
Posted · Edited by bladewurk
I have a new M2 with Nordic Tube and follower and starting to practice weak hand reloads. The gun functions fine but the follower sticks in the tube when you push a shell about halfway in, seems to be hitting something? I can feel it hit when just pushing it in with my fingers?? Tube extension is screwed all the way in is this normal to feel this hesitation and just push through it?
ETA: Nevermind pulled it apart and cleaned it .... prob went away just an FNG breaking in
