I'm with you, gino_aki. I built an Essex frame pistol which has an old US Navy slide and SA bull barrel amoung other things. All is properly fit with integrity in the product. Definitely a budget, but not cheap, build up. Hope no one has a cow over the US Navy slide, I bought it already polished to blazes with the Micro rear sights already in it. Anyway, it was set up just "seeing" what would happen with this set up. It has ended up being my go to Stock Steel pistol. Shoots fast, tracks well, 100% with good ammo, very sweet trigger.
I finally figured out from building other pistols how to get the pistol to recoil softer and track even flatter and did that mod to this pistol. I can't wait to shoot it in the next steel match.
