Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I am not sure about Zins' trigger set up, but typically this type of shooting is used with a roll trigger setup.
  2. "I can hear the sniggers already ..." I'm with you, gino_aki. I built an Essex frame pistol which has an old US Navy slide and SA bull barrel amoung other things. All is properly fit with integrity in the product. Definitely a budget, but not cheap, build up. Hope no one has a cow over the US Navy slide, I bought it already polished to blazes with the Micro rear sights already in it. Anyway, it was set up just "seeing" what would happen with this set up. It has ended up being my go to Stock Steel pistol. Shoots fast, tracks well, 100% with good ammo, very sweet trigger. I finally figured out from building other pistols how to get the pistol to recoil softer and track even flatter and did that mod to this pistol. I can't wait to shoot it in the next steel match.
  3. Did anyone notice the frame/slide rail configuration? Looking at the 3D Ruger site animation, the front frame rails are external of the slide rails and the rear frame rails are internal to the slide rails. Looks like the slide assembles onto the frame from the front. FYI, I thought it was interesting and fully supported slide then.
  4. I use 250 grain bullets at about 775 fps. I also use a 12-13 pound recoil spring with a buff in it (CP). The gun shoots flat and cycles well. As far as that last round popping out of the mag, try a stronger mag spring
