Almost set up.

Inertia hammer.
Do you have the right collet or are you using the universal. I just pulled a couple dozen BB 9mm with rcbs and the 9mm collet
-
I ran the dillon with 8lbs or so of corncob and a 1/4 bottle of polish saturday. 4 seperate loads 30 minutes each and got 7500 rds cleaned up quickly.

Thanks George thats exactly what im looking for

That should be plenty safe.

What I do with press is I have a large rubbermaid container 3.5 feet by like 18" or close; I remove case / bullet / powder feeders. put 2 large thick blankets in the rubbermaid; lay press in ; wrap in blanket, fill voids with soft stuff or even sneakers being transported. put the rubbermaid top on and good to go in trunk;
Then I have a separate rubbermaid with scale, micrometer, tools, all the little crap;

It would take alot to cause you problems as far as the powder primers go. I dont think Id want to travel with primers in tubes as that ups the risk a little but more than likely you will get there and have to pick up primers at the bottom of whatever you transport them in. Id be most concerned about keeping the press from bouncing.
Short of you driving a tesla not much will ignite them .

Is the hole the wire goes into clean? I know when i had issues id keep trying to fix it but get it going for another 50-100 rds before it would pop up again. after cleaning the hole one time I got 1000+ before issues

Is there a chart out there of machine start points?
for example im prepping 223 (torque 10, Index speed**, top dwell **, bottom dwell **)
Switching to 9mm(torque 5, Index speed**, top dwell **, bottom dwell **)

FYI, IDK if the firmware has changed since but on mine the bullet sense doesn't function unless it sees a clear path during Calibrate. That wasn't in the docs and confused me for a while since I made a little lid for it to block the path for loading the shellplate and finishing the final round.
They backordered the bulletsense on me but like I said ill be running 223 prep for a little while. I figured this is the perfect thing to start on as there are fewer pieces to master. Assuming dies are set right I should only have to deal with decap and swage sensors as well as figuring out the rest of the settings.
That way after 12000 223 cases are done I can switch up to either loading 223 or going back to 9 and only have to figure out bulletsense and new machine settings

I enjoy reloading but loading gives you pile of happiness when your done and processing is depressing. Its yanking on a handle for hours with the promise of having to do it again to get the ammo out of it. I just got my MK7 so I should be good now. I only process rifle.

This damn thread. I had a cv750 kicking around that I was tripping over for a few years until I sold it a month or so ago. But now im thinking my ammo is annoyingly sticky. I bought a cv2001 to clean loaded rounds only

Loading my first 5k of 223 on the press. Maintenance cleaned mid way
-1st issue is 2-3 per 100 end up with damaged primers( 1 side sticking out/crushed) im assuming that was bad swaging on my prep head
-2nd issue is primer pickup. I ran 4300 with no issues then the last 700 I would get 50 then random primers will not drop in the indexer and I will start feeling powder hitting my left hand. I will stop clear the press and a light finger on the primer follower will drop the primer into the indexer and im up and running for a while. I replaced the magazine blue plastic piece 2x. Is priming system just dirty?
After full tear down and service I switched to 9 got 60 rounds out before a primer hung up. I think you may be right in this being slightly bent. I ordered FW Arms Primetime to replace it.

Received a quote for a setup I am seriously considering ordering, and did the Bullet Sense sensor as my freebe as it's the most expensive.......$349.95.........
gotta know how to work it
1st order Get the unit and bullet sense as first order. If you put anything else in the cart that becomes your free one
2nd order decap sense and mark 7 marker board
3rd order from daa the remainder of your sensors.
If you skip powder it should bring you to 2740 with tax and shipping

i have 4 dillon heads and am looking into what to do now for primer hold down. I wish I figured it out before spending so much money on stock dillon heads.

I ended up with all but powdersense over 3 orders, I got the bullet sense as it was the most expensive as the free one.
-
ordered autodrive, very excited it comes friday

Pulled the trigger. Mark 7 has drive for 1999 with a free sensor. So I bought it with bullet sense. then separately bought the rest of the sensors from DAA as they had the best prices with the exception of Decapsense which they didnt have so went back to Mark 7 and bought that there.
Skipping powdersense as I dont have a spot for it.
I think my first task is to prep 15 gallons of 223 I have waiting since I hated this step previously

Accurate 2 is pretty close to 320 and burns clean with DG and Blue bullets

When I did dry tumbling. Corn cob left a better finish. And I found replacing it after 5 total hours of use made for better end results.
Wet tumbling is much cleaner but you lose all lubricity the old carbon had on the case.

The primers look as though they were laying sideways in the primer shuttle and as you pulled the handle it attempted to push it in sideways. At least #1 & #3 do. The crushed one in the middle looks like swaging though it could be the same as the other two. Is your powder measure sticking on your case flarer? If it is it may be popping and the primer may jump on its side.

I get it. Many feel the same.
However for debugging purposes it can sometimes help to sort out a hundred or thereabouts of the most often seen headstamps and process them each separately. See if a particular stamp has more problems than others.
Given that there are pocket insertion issues that might be helpful.
I broke them all down but I still have all the bad ones. I can check them to come up with a pattern. I may or may not do anything about it in the future now that , going forward, prep and load will all be done on the 1100 I should have better swaging.
-
I do not. Lifes too short to sort for plinking. I sort for grendel and 308 as im doing that in far fewer numbers
