  1. As of right now this is what I'm doing. Bought an extra tool head. I am decapping and swaging using swage it. Then a quick trip through the tumbler. I resize and sort sizes. I reload as normal with another tool head with station 1 empty. I want to get set up like what STICK has done, will save a full step.
  2. As the season is coming to an end and cold is setting, I want to start stocking up. I will be using 180 grain on top of Sport Pistol. If I chrono with a colder temp, what will happen when the next season starts and temps warm up? Do I need to wait? See if I can use an indoor range? I just started in Major power factor this season an been using factory ammo. I know factory is over power factor and like the STI I just bought. Continue to use factory loads until temps warm up?
  3. I want to have the safety pinned, but I want to do it the right way and not file down the safety. Adam over at AGW has a great video on how to do it. I also appreciate good quality machining. I'd rather pay and know that it's a good quality part.
  4. Rebuilding my STI, that I picked up off a buddy. I am glad that I did, as everything was worn out. I want to replace the SS grip safety for two reasons; 1. black to match the rest of the gun, 2. it was filed down so it will not engage the leaf spring. I found an Ed Brown memory groove for $39, and one from STI for $70. What is the difference if any? From what I have read it looks like I would be paying for the STI name, other than that they are all the same? Am I correct? Thank you
  5. DAA makes a good kit that comes with everything you need. They also have a great video.
  6. I have used both types of Talon Grips, and found that I like the sandpaper more. With that being said I have a stipple job on my G34 (multi gun) and on my STI (USPSA), and will never go back. Yes, it is time consuming, but you don't have to worry about it stipple being torn up or glue letting loose over time. The stipple will wear with time but the grip and function is still there. There are a few companies out there that will do it for you, but at the end of the day if you put in the time and work, you will always look at that gun knowing that you did it.
  7. Made the swtich, from a CZ TSO in 9mm to STI in .40. CZ comes with a *thumb rest [generic]*; the STI in 40 that I have just has grip tape. The 40 to me a snappy round, but I need to for Major PF in USPSA. Is the *thumb rest [generic]* or Nitro Fin worth is or should I just suck it up? I have used the STI in one match so far, didn't do bad mid pack, but that's normal for me. I am in the Limited class and do not want to go to Open. I tend to pull the second round with the STI to the C zone, the CZ I can stay in the A. I know that grip is a major part in that, but I think my support hand (my left) thumb is jammed hard putting pressure to the right.
  8. I will look in to the trigger kit. I guess you can say replacing everything is more for piece of mind, but why not get a little bit more out of if at the same time
  9. Would like to bring the pull weight down. Currently have the Doug Koenig hammer. No clue as to what the rest of the parts are. I shoot local matches at least 2 to 3 times a month. Nothing wrong with parts as it sits, that I know of. I am a fan of knowing what is in the gun. I will also have a good time line as to when springs were done and what parts are in the gun.
  10. Hello All, Just picked up a 'franken' STI chambered in 40, it looks like the "Edge" but the slide is not milled. Gun shoots and functions as it sits with no problems. Bought off a friend of mine. He bought it not to long ago, but upgraded to the Open division, so it has sat in a safe. I like it and want to make Major PF, so I am keeping it. I want to do a new trigger and grip, as I do not like what is currently on it. Should I replace all other internals when I swap out grips? If so, what is a good brand to go with? Cost is not a HUGE deal as long as I know that I am getting a quality part, and it will last.
