  1. I forgot to say that in my opinion the Xesse would not be a good gun for steel challenge. I own one of these fine pistols and use it for bullseye, but it has an inherent flaw that manifests itself after a few thousand rounds, maybe less. There is a small tab on the trigger guard that acts as kind of a slide stop. This tab can and will break off. Mine did after about 5000 rounds of subsonic ammo. There are reports of it failing quicker with standard and faster velocity ammo. It is not an expensive part, $20.00 form Larry’s Guns. It might not cause an unsafe condition on the pistol but when mine broke I stopped for the night and did not shoot it again until I got the new part.
  2. My open .22 steel pistol is an older (80's or 90's) Ruger Mk II with the following. Tacsol 6" upper with Tandemkross comp. C-more railway with an 8 moa dot, exact edge extractor, a no longer in production Clark trigger and hammer bushing, VQ Ti. X-fer bar, sombody's mag release, some kind of extended bolt release and Hogue wrap around grips. I have been racing this pistol for about 10 years and the only time I had problems is with Remington gold bullet bulk box ammo. I have used four different comps on this pistol starting with the VQ that clamped on the stock bull barrel this worked well. Second was the 36 hole Tacsol, another good comp. I thought about having the holes taped so I could "tune" it but never did. Third was the Tacsol steel comp that is for their conversion upper, works but puts wieght on the barrel end and is slab sided. I just recentley bought the Tandemkross, I have not yet shot it as my work schuedule has been nuts lately. Here is an older pic.
  3. MKII TacSol barrel and multi-hole comp, Clark and VQ internals, Hogue grips.
  4. This Black Dog Holster will fit a MK II with C-more. Left or right hand. I have one, it works well,'nuff said. Tac-Sol
  5. Photoracer, How did your testing turn out? I have been following this thread and kinda forgot about it until I got my TS 2211 comp. Now I need to A/B it against my 34 hole comp on my Mk II with a TS 6" barrel. I will post results. A note on the 2211 comp, I had to get a PWS 1/2" shim kit from nokick.com to get it to index correctly.
  6. How about the competition from AA? Double Alpha PDR Their description says that it is designed for production division. MiS
  7. Ruger MKII 6" Tac-sol barrel W/comp, C-More Railway, lots of internal mods, Hogue grips.
  8. Mad Mike! So here you are, welcome. I lost track of you when Steve and I quit running Practical Pistol and later Four Corners all together. And now we've got "Farmboy" (welcome to you too!) here, it's starting to feel like old home week... Ed Dailey Yep it's me. Being very humbled buy the big dog's at ARPC. But my XD is tuned up and ready to go, and I look forward to every match I can get to. See you soon. Mike aka Mike in Salem aka Mad Mike
  9. Speed Steel huh? Sounds like fun! I'll have to give it a try. Center fire only? Or do they throw in rimfire also? My back up bullseye rimfire pistol would be great for SS.
  10. Monmouth here checking in. I am a member of 4 Courners and shoot bullseye there. I shoot USPSA at Albany. Hope to see you there.
