Is there one mount that everyone prefers?  I am planning on running my PCC like this for next years season and want to get dry practice in over the winter (it's hunting season here now and then we will be into snow so the competition season is over)

I bought a Truglo, it was 25$ and I really like it. I put it on the gun last weekend and it was a good move. I even stood a sheet of OSB up and used it for a wall, about 8 yards from the target. It was a true hard lean and man was that sweet! No more switching shoulders.

The Truglo is well made and clamps on nice and tight. Amazon.

Shot a few loads thru the chrono today. All were a 9mm 115gr plated round nose berrys, 1.160 oal.

    3.0gr of clays, 1068.7 fps for 122.9pf

    3.5gr of clays, 1193.8fps for 137.29 pf

    4.0gr of tightgroup, 1306.9fps for 150.29pf

3.0gr of clays was super light w/ almost no recoil.

4.0gr of tightgroup was snappy but very little dot movement and very accurate.

When we used to load 4.5-5.0gr for 200gr .45acp in the days when you shot a single stack in Limited division, the move was very slow and steady. When I checked that load I was just at 125pf, but it was close. As a rule( mine) flaky shotgun powders aren't the first choice in very small quantities. You are also .040 longer than my OAL, makes sense it is a bit slower. I am also using a plated bullet, Xtreme.

Titegroup always has been snappy, but it is consistent and meters pretty well. Also accurate as you stated.

If you have any Power Pistol, give 4.2/4.3gr a try, same bullet.

I currently use the KVP light profile barrel which I like,

That is the barrel I have, which I like very much, especially the weight !

I've given up and going to work up a load with N320.

You can't go wrong with any of the VV powders, a bit pricey but great!

    115gr.........3.0 Clays

                         3.5 Universal

                         4.2 Power Pistol

All run around 1100fps out of MY gun, I would chrono for yours. If it was for a major match, I would up all just a touch.

At this point it would probably feed a .40 S&W.  I'd stop about now and see how it works for a few hundred rounds.

I got a chance to shoot today and it was great !

Probably 50 or 60 rounds without a problem ! Everything fed, fired and ejected as it was supposed to.

Time will tell but for now I think it was a good move.

Why not try it both ways...

I planned on it . Just looking for real world feedback.

i tried the Taccom short stroke kit and it worked well for the first few hundred rounds.  After that the wave spring was compressed to the point where my bolt would lock back again.  I don’t like wave springs for that reason.

Also good to know. I guess if the wave spring gets flattened out I will get a length of delrin rod and make my own.

Used to have tons of it in the shop I used to work at, not anymore.

    Amazon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

No Sir - Currently a PSA AR9 with a 16” barrel but plan on converting over to my JP GMR-15 that just arrived a couple of week ago....I have not yet put a round through the JP yet as I want to learn on my PSA before changing over to the JP...

I use this load currently because it is my IDPA pistol load.  Since I just recently (about 90 days ago) got into PCC I decided to use my pistol load for my PCC shooting for now espically since I have several thousand rounds already loaded of this recipe...  As I learn more about PCC shooting and shoot more, my plan will be to create a lighter load for my PCC rifles...

I welcome any guidance, comments, suggestions because my plan is to create a dedicated PCC load this winter as time allows.....Mark

I get it, lots of rounds loaded, gotta use em" up !

Once you start loading for the rifle , go by your chronograph, not load data. I found the loads I started with checking out 250-300fps faster than published when fired through the PCC. Quite a stark difference in recoil!

I’ve cut some thicker pieces of Delrin to try out.  Hoping to get to that tomorrow.  Dot movement is definitely reduced by shortening the stroke.

That's good to hear, I just pulled the trigger( that was funny on this forum) on the short stroke kit for my Taccom3 buffer.

If it's half as good as everyone says it is it will be 20$ well spent!

One question.............I have the bolt weight out now, the recoil was softer this way. Should I expect to be putting it back in ?

Odin works fit my PSA lower with no modifications required...Best $28 I could have spent espically after the plastic one that came on my PSA lower quit consistantly holding my Glock factory mags after about 1500 rounds using OEM 17 rd mags...The locking end that goes into the magwell looked like it had been chewed on by one of my dogs. Knarled up...Took all of 3 minutes to install the Odin unit.....Mark

Yep, same story here. The plastic one (NFA lower) wasn't holding the Glock mags. Odin is the way to go !

    Well, how’d it go?

I had to cut my grass Thursday after work then it started raining. Moving a friend tomorrow, will definitely try it out Sunday ! I also mounted my 45* dot tonight, so I have two things to work on !

I only made it a bit wider at the top, the picture is a bit deceiving. That was the last swing, if it jams even once I will index the ramp out of the way again and swear up and down the whole thing was for lightening purposes !

Lefty setup on my MPX. HS 503 primary with HS - 507 offset(left).

I haven't shot it yet but I like the 507 35moa circle already compared to the 65 in moa in 503.

I also like the 510 but 503 seems to meet my needs. Hoping to get results from 507 in coming weeks, weather permitting

Nice, and great info, much appreciated.

One question to you........................... My primary optic right now is a Bushnell TR25, the offset is( will be when I put it on this weekend) a Vortex Viper. I will be replacing the Bushnell this winter, with either a C More Railway or a Holosun 510C.

How do you like the Holosun, weight wise? The 510C is 13oz, almost a pound. The C More is 5 or 6 oz's. I purposely built this gun as light as possible, no tactical reason, I just wanted to see how light I could build it.

Mounting a just shy of a pound dot on it would go against everything I did when I built it, so I am leaning toward the C More, unless you un convince me .

  12. When I added my Taccom3 buffer system, the lock the bolt back way to load went bye bye !

Not to be confusing, the bcg will still lock back. But...............if you pay attention to the amount of effort needed to accomplish this task, you probably don't want to just send her home !

Besides, why would you want the bolt to lock open anyways ?

Propper stage planning and big enough for any stage mag extensions make that kind of a moot point ! Even if you have to make a reload, you do not want the bolt held open !

I think you'll find the TruGlo will be very similar to the Warne.  It's the GG&G mount shown in this thread holds the rail section much higher.

Got it ! The Truglo looked like it was pretty decently made and it was about half the cost of some of the other name ones you have heard of.

One question, I was going to mount the offset dot behind the other optic. I see from the picture posted on here that fellow did his the other way. Is there any right/wrong way, better way or it doesn't really matter as long as you can hit something with it ?

Don't wait. Break out that dremel, some sandpaper, and the polishing wheel and get it done. Pretty easy fix IMO. You've already done the hard/stupid part ;)

Well I did and here it is.

I looked at the picture of the ramp Max has in his barrel and it was much wider at the top. So I opened mine up at the top a bit and broke the sharp edge going into the chamber. I won't be able to shoot it until Thursday, but every round I cycled through it in the basement chambered and ejected. This was with three different mags with three different bases. One was an ETS with an MBX mini stuffed as full as I can get it.

I mentioned on a different thread tonight about the Glock mags having a lot of up and down play in my lower, I have pretty much gone exclusively to ETS or Magpul mags. This feed ramp may have a little more " forgiveness" if a mag is a bit too low ?

    new feed ramp.jpg

  15. Funny this topic came up..... I have a Truglo 45* offset mount being delivered tomorrow.

I bought a Vortex Viper for a carry optics gun for next year, but for now it will be the 45* dot on the PCC gun, we will evaluate after the season is over.

I was a switch to weak side guy up until now. It was TOO SLOW !

The other problem is as someone who shoots everything two eyes open, I had to close my right eye ( dominant) to see the damn dot on the left side. No clue why, but it really sucks when you forget to close the one eye, waste time looking for the dot, then remember.

The Truglo mount is 25$ and I had the dot, why not !

If anyone is wondering why the Truglo it's because the other ones I found mounted the dot higher, like the Warne in this thread. I was afraid it would interfere with my other optic.

  16. I was just talking about this on a different thread, I was having fits with one certain Glock mag, and the bad play is up and down more than front to back. I would have a round stick on it's way in, slap the mag on the bottom pushing it up and the round would feed. This was also with the factory plastic mag catch, I now have an Odin. See my new post tonight on my feed ramp thread, I may have solved that issue ?

My theory is pretty simple, and I"ve stated it here once before. The notch in a Glock mag on the left( pistol) side has a steel insert, the right( most PCC) does not. The mag I had issues with was used quite a bit. Newer mags were better, but not perfect. The plastic the Glock mag is made out of is soft, as was the plastic mag catch. These two things combined led to the mag and the catch both wearing a bit, allowing the up and down play. With the Odin aluminum catch and using all ETS mags now, the problem seems to be gone. The ETS mags are very hard plastic and will not wear.

I have never held or touched any other lower. I would be curious as to how this issue is/was eliminated ? I am thinking the JP and the QC10.

Has anyone tried the "clear" ETS magazines ???  I've read a review or two that says they are reliable, trying for a few more users opinions.

Count me in, other than the 21rd Magpul mags, all my big sticks are ETS. I had been having trouble with Glock mags fitting too loose in the gun, I think I know why.

The ETS mags are much harder plastic and fit and function well!

I tried one with a TF +10 basepad but there was a step in the back, so no go. I have one on an MBX mini and another on a Dawson +4 base, all good to go there.

One thing though, keep them clean on the inside and spray a little WD-40 in them after cleaning.

  18. The 21rd Magpul mags are spectacular !!

They drop empty, or close to it. I also use them for first mag on a mandatory reload stage. I grab a downloaded ETS big stick for the second mag.

I thought I saw somewhere they were coming out with a 31 or 33 round version, I never read about a 27rd mag but that would be sweet also.

One thing about Magpul mags, THEY WORK !

Hi folks.  I joined after I spotted a thread on the Endomag on the forum.  I will be testing the CMMG Banshee (RDB bolt system) with the Endomags when they ship end of this month.  I think CMMG has a hit on their hands with their bolt system.

We are about to be in new territory with the CMMG radial Delayed blowback bcg along with the Mean Arms Endomag.  The RDB system is not straight blowback and eliminates a lot of the beating a 9mm build gets.  The Endomag (if it proves to be reliable) will supersede mag blocks unless you have a drum magazine.  Buffers and springs may also be simplified.  I am hopeful I will be able to swap uppers on my Spike's Cal Multi lower and slap in the 9mm  Endomag equipped Pmag M2 or M3 and get back on target.   The Banshee and Guard both utilize a standard carbine buffer and .308 spring so I may not have to even swap buffer/spring to get it running right.

This is my first foray into PCC and I'm glad I waited to learn a bit before jumping in to the earlier technology around blow back systems.  Testing will tell the tale.  Can't wait to get started.

CMMG Banshee upper Spike's Tactical Cal Multi lower

ps.  If you decide to order Endomags for a Guard/Banshee upper ask for that version when you order.  The Guard/Banshee Endomags are not shipped with an ejector tab on the mag.

    Amen to that !!!!!!
