  1. Is there a sgnificant difference to choose the 17 round mec-gars over the 16 round magazines? I'm shooting production and idpa so capacities above 10 are not important. The 17 round magazine cost more but are there benefits to them other than one more round to justify the add cost? Thanks in advance.
  2. I'm loading 9mm on a SDB and I've loaded around 15,000 round so far this year so 5,000 per year is no problem. I try to load a few thousand at a time so I'm not having to do it every week.
  3. I've looked heavily at the tanfo line but I've decided to go with cz sp 01(my dealer got me a killer deal) . I ordered them today and going to use some cgw parts to get them right on the edge of idpa legal. I plan to do a build thread when I get the details worked out if anyones interested.
  4. I'm currently shooting a m&p 5" mainly because that's what I had when I started. Now that I'm more serious about competing I'm get a set of competition pistols and trying to by once cry one? the steel frame guns seem to preference and I think more durable than polymer.
  5. I'm looking at new pistols for uspsa and ipda. Being I'm going to shoot uspsa and idpa with the same guns and idpa being at the forefront as the closest uspsa match is 100 mile away.the shadow 2 and stock 2 are out because of be illegal for idpa. I'm looking at get a pair of sp01s and adding some cgw goodies. But are there any other options that will be legal and competitive in both in 9mm?
  6. Can't really switch die the square deal die are Proprietary. I just pulled a few blues and loaded them with the same set up and they come out fine. I'm thinking the sns being size .356 vs the blues at .355 might be the culprit
  7. Can you please elaborate as in what I should be looking a after sideing that might be problematic?
  8. I backed off the crimp until it would barely chamber to no avail also pulled a bullet before the crimp die and it still had the ring at the base and some of the coating gone.
  9. I'm use a dillon square deal b I'll try backing off the crimp till it will just pass the gauge and plunk test and give that a try.
  10. Hey I'm having a problem with some new sns 147gr rn I'm trying out. The coating is coming off around the base I've try a col from 1.135 to 1.170 and it's still there. crimp is .379-.380 and I'm flaring to .400. I've been loading blues and never had this happen and I believe its cause the leading I'm starting to see. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  11. Thanks jack that's what I'm going to do. I didn't think a few hundred grains would make much difference in a 8 lb jug.
  12. Hey I have a almost empty bottle of titegroup there barely enough in it to cover the baffle in my dillon hopper. Can I mix this very small amount in my new jug of titegroup from a different lot and still be safe. Being cheap( obviously using titegroup) I don't want to throw it out but not causing a unsafe situation or ruining a new jug of powder is more important. Thanks in advance.
  13. Thanks for the help. Test some to day and no signs of high pressure. Didn't get any chrono data as I left the battery at home. Going back in a few days with a battery this time? to do some chrono and grouping.
  14. Thanks for the info I started a 1.125 at 1.085 it would go but not drop out or spin like they was headspaceing on the bullet going by your picture but didn't get normal headspaceing till 1.07. I bought a small sample pack so I'm not out a lot of I can't get them to work. I've been having good luck with 125gr blues but wanted to get a good 147gr load to to a Comparison against my 125gr load.
  15. I'm crimping to .377 to .378. using mix range brass I did load some with 2.6 and 2.8 gr of titegroup with no signs of over pressure but I have not chrono yet. I'm beginning to think my gun just doesn't like the profile of the precisions. Any insight in to achieving a long col?
  16. I'm new to loading 9mm. I've only loaded around 1500 rounds. I have been loading blue bullets 125 gr tc to a 1.125 col with no problems in my m&p 2.0. Decided to try some 147 gr fp from precision and I'm have to seat to a 1.070 col to past a punk test In my barrel. Wanting to try them over 2.8 gr of titegroup as a starting load but I'm concerned with the short col. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I plan to keep all my fingers! Thanks in advance.
