Got a hold of Windfall and they couldn't help.... sent pics of the pistol and they said they would need it in hand...

I'll probably end up with something  like a Ghost or DAA but they are useless at protecting the gun from damage which is something I want...

I think you will need to send the pistol in anywhere to get the kind of holster we are looking for. Don't neglect looking for something local. I was surprised to find a company in my backyard.

If I was looking at spending the money on a race holster I would just bite the bullet on the wait time and send the pistol off.

  2. I have been searching for the same thing and called both RHT and Weber Tactical. RHT used to make them,  but got out of the open holster game. Weber was developing an open holster for the Atlas Chaos, but hasn't yet brought that to market.

Adam Weber recommended Windfall Defense for a custom kydex option. I'm going to have someone local to me give it a try and use a DAA Alpha X until then. No one seems to mass produce a kydex open holster other than NERD.

JP 18" light contour rifle gas barrel kit with their 3 port titanium comp, adj gas block, steel low mass carrier, and SCS buffer system shocked me how little motion it had first test firing. now that i've been shooting open i've thought about trying out their tank brake but i cant imagine it being all that much better.

keep in mind that different people's grip and technique will control motion slightly differently with the same components.

I'm switching to open and have been thinking of using the tank break, but came to the same conclusion that surely it can't enough difference to justify $100.

  4.  I think for me it doesn't matter how shiny my brass is. I don't care if I can see my reflection in it or if it's clean enough to do shots with (pun intended). My goal is perfect function and pursuing the shortest possible path to reach that goal.

I don't think it's necessary for pistol cases and I haven't noticed any decline in function since stopping the use of pins. It saves a little time,  avoids some headache chasing pins,  and still leaves me with functioning brass.

And if someone needs convinced of that? Load ammo to 130 and to 135. You will not be able to feel the difference, with the same bullet and powder. If you can, it’ll be extremely slight.

Heat it up a bit. It doesn’t hurt.

Exactly. I used to scrape the power factor floor and try to get is as light as possible like that would give me some advantage. I have since realized that such a small change doesn't affect my shooting. My bullets just get to the C zone a little faster now.
