Have a new slide and barrel fitted to keep cost down. Unless, you find something you absolutely want and need that's an open. Then sell what you got and buy it
-
$80-90 is solid right now but if you have nothing do what you need to get them or buy factory ammo.
Just looking at it objectively the manufacturers have no reason to sell primers at .02 cents ever again. Gun ownership is at an all time high so ammo consumption will continue for years

No stock. Does going up from 134 to 145 seem typical?
Yes. They usually test out of 4 inch guns. Your barrel is 5.31 so you will get more bullet stability and velocity. There's no more powder than usual so send it

Most powders are temp sensitive where they go up in warm weather and go down in colder. Some can be reverse temp sensitive where they go up in cold and down in warm.
Do you run an aftermarket barrel?

Done it. You're fine. Just gonna be a while loading then into seating die one at a time

My buddy shoots two and they run well with mbx. Def a great way to get started

You don't need it at all. They usually get chewed up sand then will cause failures. You're good without it

Carry Optics is the #1 division in USPSA for the foreseeable future. Stop trying to resurrect dinosaur divisions . It's a free country and people have taken to CO.
I shoot open for the matter so I'm not biased. Numbers don't lie and CO has every big manufacturer behind it producing optics ready guns. There's no going back now

Have you cleaned it out with a brush? Usually there's powder and skin layered up that causes it to dull

Depends on how heavy your gun already is. Ideally, you want the frame and grip to be the heaviest part of the gun so there's naturally less lift. Stainless steel magwell can help with this.
I have both and the aluminum definitely takes a beating faster with dry fire.

I use HS-6 for practice and in the recent past fire matches. I now load Aa7 for matches until I can build up a big enough supply. It is better and there's plenty of room in the case for a bullet. I'm loading to 1.160.

What powder are you looking at starting with? Just thinking out loud you may not need as much powder as the comp guns to make pf.

I've decided that, at least at this point in my life, reloading is one step too much. I haven't got the time or the patience for it. So, I am wondering if I must sell my beloved CZ Czechmate Parrot as well since I won't be making 9mm major for it.
Does anybody use factory ammo in these guns? I'd love to find some affordable factory ammo that will still drive the comp. I realize I won't make major but honestly I don't care that much. This sport is just for fun. Thanks!
Black dot has one of the best prices around. Have a couple buddies that use it. It's major pf ammo as well. https://blackdotammunition-com.3dcartstores.com/9mm-MAJOR-124gr-br-100-ROUND-BAG-br-Competition-Specific-Ammunition-brREAD-DESCRIPTION-CAREFULLY-br-Not-for-use-in-standard-9mm-firearms-_p_18.html

There's a crimp in the pocket in it for LE/MIL use. Happens to me as well but 1050 swages it. You can get a small primer pocket reamer and attach to drill to get it out or but a Dillon super swage 600 and do it by hand when you run into them.

You answered the question, confidence. Go faster and get comfortable. You will miss but you can figure out why you're missing. Polish those details and you will shoot much faster and accurately in time

1.150 should be good

Pressures are really high. That's why you don't need much. 3n38, Acc7 and 3n37 will be best output for you

Get a Redding competition seating die. Extremely precise

Capital cartridge is very good. I use their brass for practice

Slide Stops
in CZ
Just a very cheaply cast part that isn't tempered to high heat. The barrel rotates on it so it will always be a failure point. Just buy a lot of them and change it out before a big match lol
-
Shadow 2 is a large frame and will give you more surface area to grip. Mags will work. Barrel I believe might be a little longer. Holster will be different
An aftermarket match barrel like the ones Barsto has might help you and will be more cost effective. Buying a new gun is fun though

38sc, yes. 9 major, unnecessary

Silhouette is formulated for a low flash signature. Give it a try

Atlas makes an open slide with zig racket cut, tri top and scallop cut for $325. Buy a one piece barrel and comp from Brazos. Then it's just labor so you should be around $1200ish
