mrs moto wants to shoot open. i have seen several posts recommending the brazos semi custom guns as a reasonably priced entry point into open, but no posts from anyone who actually owns one. looking in the classifieds, no one ever seems to sell one. brazos has a pretty good reputation in the industry. looking for your thoughts and experiences.
Built out the short block kit and it's been running great for two seasons. Really affordable option and great customer service

They have a rep for not holding up on Open gun as it is. I've had two get the flicker of death before I gave up on them. Multiple friends are on their second or third. However, their warranty does ship out a new one every time thus far. Slide ride will beat the hell out of it faster but there will be exceptions

Spray your comp with a dry lube and let dry. You won't get much build up at all, if any
-
The thumb safety usually traps then from coming out. You could certainly have some play that would cause r issues if the holes aren't cut precisely parallel

Todays automatic loading systems seem like a dream to own and use. HOWEVER>>
I have enough issues with a Dillon 550 just trying to manually load.(9mm and 45 acp only so far)
so far 200/hour is my best as something ALWAYS happens( primer system issues usually- including deprime pins getting stuck in firing holes)..most issues are with the 9mm which I load a lot of
so my ? to those that know-- how do you autoload so many rounds without issues? if something is wrong, does the system shut down automatically? are the sensors supplied reliable.
when I reload. I am concerned with using the right brands of mixe d range brass , correct primer insertion, powder drops... So I am a slower loader( average 10-12 seconds/ round). BUT I Know my rounds are safe. I would LOVE to make even 500-800 rounds/hour on an auto system IF I could be assured of few problems and no safety issues
JUst wondering how you auto loaders know your rounds are properly made? do you have duds? othe r issues?
Hornady case lube us a tremendous headache saver. Spray both sides of a Ziploc bag with a decent coating, throw your brass on and shake around all the brass.

Any insight on Shadow 2's specifically? (Reliability/accuracy/etc).
Did you feel that the weight of the gun doesn't necessarily benefit as much as other guns from being "softer shooting", when generally the weight/design of a the S2 is already a soft shooting gun?
I shoot 115s through mine at 135pf because the two weights your are asking about return the sights slower, for me.
Having shot limited major for a few years, I prefer a faster sight return. Recoil becomes an after thought eventually
-
If you want softer "feeling" go with the 147s.
If you want quick return of the sight go with the 124s
-
You won't need to do that with a 7 pound variable. The coils are laid out a specific way
-
Train to relax your right hand in lots of dry fire
-
Option 2 or a full refund altogether and buy something worth that much money. Don't complicate this lol
-
National level GMs are another level. Should be a new classification called Elite GM or something of the sort(based on Nats performance) lol
-
Certified match ammo will still pass if the sample makes it, per the rules
-
Seen quite a few living blocks break. Know another guy who's slide was not fitted properly and wouldn't run reliable unless at 180pf. You should last
-
-
If you're loading your own ammo, whatever you can make run consistently lol
-
Precision Delta don't have an exposed base. Comps get some build up no matter what. Take the manpon out and clean it when necessary lol
-
Both calls are correct. They problem is they aren't painting the barrels after hits so someone could get the wrong call
-
Don't recommend them at all. Get precision Delta jhp v2 or rmr fmj. They are very close in price to coated
-
Foreign primers are available in the USA but being exploited price wise as well by the manufacturers. That's capitalism and it won't go down for likely some years. Ginex are same price as CCI when they are online

Good morning enos team!
After my last unfortunate trip to the open division with a 2011 i'm finally back with a Czechmate.
The gun runs perfectly and has served me well in 11 major matches.
I installed a brass magazine well as well as an alternative optics mount with a holosun 510 c gr from Sebo.My current load is 8.7 gr Vectan SP2 behind a 121 gr Frontier bullet.
Power factor measured 173.Personally, I find the behavior of my Dot to be very wild. Other shooters confirm this as well. My question would be how do I proceed. Another compensator from Sebo? It seems to have less Space for Gas than the original? a member of this board once said to me if you don't like what your compensator does you need more gas, but I don't think this will lead to success here?
Any Ideas?
Noticed the same with mine. Went down to 168-69 pf and it's much less now
-
NAS3 case. Nickel alloy steel. Great lightweight case. I use them for practice. Magnetic as well but not very strong
-
There's a lot of loads to base your experimenting on other threads. It's honestly not that hard I've been in Open for a couple years now. The guns can handle higher pressure but obviously you don't want to be 180pf and cracking your gun

So for match shooting, do you guys reload for accuracy? Or do you not care about how accurate the load is and go more for soft recoiling?
I've been shooting a hot load because it is accurate and low standard deviation. It's a max charge of VV N350 but with a shorter OAL at power factor 155.But i've been thinking maybe I should shoot a softer recoiling load. What do you guys recommend? Hot accurate load, or softer recoiling less accurate load?
You could experiment and find something softer. Probably decrease your charge a half grain and maintain accuracy. If it works and you shoot it well what are you really chasing?

Romeo 3 Max and XL are great options. Trijicon SRO is extremely reliable as well
