I've got a Dan Wesson SSC, and a Valor. Both are very nice guns, but I like the SSC best. I've put A LOT of bullets through the 40, and haven't had one problem from it. I would'nt hesitate recommending it to anyone.

Randy, I've got an SSC, and I love it. My SSC does have front cocking serrations. I also have a Valor, and I shoot the SSC alot more. Hope this helps. By the way, the SSC is not in Dan Wesson's 2010 line up.

My Valor's slide is at Rich's shop right now getting the adjustable sight installed. As soon as I get it back, I'll post some pic's. If you go with the Novak adj. sight, it leaves a gap between the sight and the slide.

Thanks for the quick replies. From what I see in the magazines, a lot of shooters use a 230gr. bullet. That's probably what I'll use. Have been using Clays and VV320 in my 45 lately.

What would be a good load for 45 in single stack? Thanks for your help, Dave

G-man, I looked at Dawsons site, and the only sights they had were still like the fixed sights. I would like to find a sight like a Bo-Mar that could be buried into the slide.

I've got a 1911 with a fixed rear sight (novak cut) that I want to change to adjustable sights. The problem is the base cut on the novak is much larger than the one on the adj. sight. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave

Did S&W ever make a 625 V comp? I've never seen one, and wondered if there is such a thing. Any help would be appreciated.

I've been using the same one for almost a year now. Shows some wear, but still working.

I use a piece of plastic water pipe to strip the moonclips. you can pick a piece up at Menards for a couple of bucks. I make the piece long enough to hold 6pcs. of brass. You need a Dremel tool to cut the lip so it fits into the moon clip, then just twist. When you get 6pcs. in it tip it over to empty. Very easy to make, I've made several for my friends.

I want to get a new barrel for my ss 40. Which would be better for lead bullets? Any help would be appreciated, Dave

Have a new Limited, and would like to know if there is any differences between the blue mags and the chromed ones Henning is selling? I would like to save a few dollars if possible. Also, need to get an action job done, where is the best place to go? Would the hammer group Henning sells do the trick, or does it need to go to a gunsmith? Thanks for any help, Dave

Mike, that's what has me wondering how he did the barrel. It looks like he made a custom barrel to look like a stock barrel, otherwise I don't know how he would be able to machine the barrel for the setback. Also, does anyone know if S&W would install a 5" barrel on my 4" 625?
