  1. Interesting. now that I think of it I only ever tried the 13 in my polymer. maybe it works better in the steel.
  2. basically what im saying Is my grip wasn't great but the S2 was more forgiving. The polymer rival definitely didn't shoot as soft and forced me to look at improving my grip. Sure that could definitely be transferred back to the shadow but I dont want to go back to the shadow.
  3. My slide wasn’t fully closing with the 13lb you don’t have that issue?
  4. So I’ve settled on Rivals actually. Originally was shooting the polymer ones for a few months but got the steel a couple months ago and it’s a really nice middle ground in weight. I love it and have a second on the way. the shadow 2 shoots a little softer but IMO both the polymer and steel do absolutely everything else better. Bigger magwell for reloads, better slide cuts for and unloaded starts or clearing malfunctions. I think the lighter weight makes be able to draw and transition it slightly faster. When you upgrade the trigger it’s just about as good as the S2 in single action but no need for a DA first shot. i also feel like the shadow 2 was hiding some inefficiencies in my grip and a few months with the plastic gun really helped with that.
  5. Thanks I’ll check those out also.
  6. I saw those new axil’s. They are running a promo for $50 so it would be right on track. Just not sure I want to give them another shot. I have my peltor over wars that are great maybe I’ll try those.
  7. Looking for input on some near ears. I want in ear style. I have a pair of axil ones with the cord and they suck for many reasons. I also bought an older pair of walkers which I like OK but the battery only last like 2 hours and they won’t do anything to fix it (I offered to pay). I'm looking for electronic in ear buds that are around $250 or less.
  8. Time was it takes about 2 minutes or less to take a mag apart and put it back together. Maybe another 2 minutes to add the items to the cart. for shipping benstoegerproshop has everything available that’s needed so not much issue there either. Yeah one piece is nice. If they were about 90-95 bucks each it would be a no brainer. Or if I didn’t have 6 140mm mags setup already id definitely grab some. Indint know that I’m running out the door to get them now though.
  9. So at 113 for an ambi it’s a little pricier but similar to a fully setup 24 round mag. 30 for the mag 40 for henning pad and 20 for a rune or MBX spring and follower. So about $90 vs $113 not much but if you buy a lot of mags it adds up. What does that extra $23 get you I wonder?
  10. I didnt know they made a canik mag. Made have to check it out.
  11. Yeah I run that setup in the polymer guns. In the steel gun I like a lighter guide rod.
  12. lots rods work. glock 17/34 from wolff work, ive heard sig works, im running an old m&p 5inch rod in mine.If you dont want to add weight dont buy tungsten it wont be worth the money. I have a w74 rod in my polymer guns, they are heavy as hell. I can weigh later if you want but go wolff if you just want to change weights.
  13. I did that last night with a pair of faux ivory ones. They feel good but look like s#!t lol. Just wanted to see if there was anything out there that could match the grip.
  14. I’ve tried 13-15. 14 was pretty good but my doubles groups were much tighter with 15. 13 would not even fully close the slide consistently.

The factory release is metal. I believe aluminum. It’s a nightmare to get back in especially on the steel. I highly recommend not removing it unless you really HAVE to. I use the Taylor freelance extended button on the factory release and it works great.

The RMR footprint ones always seem to be out of stock. for the mag release. I do like it but it’s not really any better than a stock rival one. I got it for 2 reasons. I wanted to try to tool they make for flipping the mag release. I’m a lefty so have to flip all mine and it’s a huge f*#king pain. It was $15 for the tool or $40 for the mag release and the tool. I have one can for home defense that doesn’t have a the ability to screw in different size mag releases so I just upgraded that one and got my tool. Seemed like the smart thing to do. I wouldn’t spend the money to change it out if I already had a rival style mag release though.
  17. Thise look pretty damn interesting. My only hesitation is I’m a lefty and installed Mitchell right sight mag catch’s. Do you think I could dremmel away material? Those look pretty good too. I used palm swells on my CZs but only like swells on my strong hand.
  18. Just like the title says. Looking for the most aggressive 1911 grips possible.
  19. IMO it’s Definitely well worth the price to upgrade even if your stock plate is good. Glad to help.
  20. I’m running an old tungsten guide rod I had in the garage. I think it’s from an M&P 5inch and a 15 pound commander 1911 spring. It works good but a few time the spring gets caught between the rod and slide and causes issues. I’d like to experiment with a flat wire spring.

Which dot are you running? I had to wait a long time for a second SRO plate to be available. I ended up just buying two because I knew I’d be getting the steel soon. Shoot him a DM on Instagram and he should be able to give you an ETA. I actually just installed one of his mag releases a few days ago.
  22. What do you mean by releasing the slide by accident? You mean not allowing slide lock? If thats the case dont worry about that. If you're going to slide lock consistently thats the big issue.
  23. Nice, I have 3 of them. They are better in every way IMO. look better, sit lower, better build quality. Brandon the owner is a nice guy too. I got some of their other products and everything has been good to go.

Yeah I use the plate from disruptivedefense for my SRO it sits much lower.
