  1. I picked up another rod for my 17 but this time I went with the ISMI spring to compare.  I found I could still run a 13lb but the 15lb felt better.  Most of my other Glocks use ISMI so I will stick with those but either spring seems to work well in 15lb with my Gen 5's.

  2. Since the short test session I have only shot a 150rnd club match. I started to feel what I thought was grit in the break but by the end of the match it smoothed out.  I remember him mentioning in one of his videos to give it a few hundred rounds to wear in.

Performance wise it's impressive.  Travel is super short and pulls light while running the 4.5lb striker.

  3. I received my comp kit today and was able to get in a quick trip to the range.  Very impressive with no adjustment needed.  I'm still undecided on the break and think I will need to put a few hundred more rounds through it to really get a feel for it.  I can say the pre/over travel and reset are the shortest I've seen and all the safeties are working.

  4. I prefer 147's and just about everyone I know does as well in their Glocks.  I've always had good luck with Titegroup (3.0 coated & 3.2 plated) and 147's rn or hp around 1.140".  Do a search and you should find plenty of info.

I think that’s what comes on the 34 from the factory. Seem to need a bit more than it provides.

Both my Gen 4&5 had the standard (7534) release installed from the factory. The extended is only a +.75mm difference with a bit larger radius on the corner.

The Vickers release is nice as well.

  6. The magwell isn't a huge difference but definitely an improvement especially once you get a grip plug in.

As for accuracy I never had any issues with the previous gens.  As an update in that department my new Dawson Gen 5 specific sights have me shooting POA/POI.

  7. I just picked up my G5 17 last weekend and other than the stock plastic sights having me hitting low I'm very happy with it.

I typically like the dot connector but in this gun I threw in a polished minus connector and found I prefer that.  I tried a 4lb striker spring and it wouldn't reset the trigger safety and the 4.5lb would just barely.  I may order a 5lb and a plunger spring to try but for now I'm happy with polished OEM parts and springs.

  8. You should be able to easily accomplish that with a little polish and a lighten striker spring.  If that's not enough Taran Tactical is now offering their GM 3.25 kit for the Gen 5.
