  1. I picked up a new Canik Rival Dark Side to finally play in CO. The Rival came with two 18 round mags. I've got Henning +4 basepads and the Grams/CZ spring/follower ordered for those already.

Are the 18's & 20's the same size but with different baseplates and/or different springs?

Is there another good mag/basepad (exaple: such as a 20rd mag & TF +0 basepad) combo for a +0 setup or do most guys just set up all the mags as +4's?

  2. You guys answered it perfectly. Thank you. I had a feeling the Pro or VTAC slide wouldn't work direct but I thought the Procut might but I couldn't find the answer anywhere. I am on a list for a couple of the Gray Guns slides in case they get them in stock soon. Thanks again.

  3. Can the Romeo3 Max be direct-mounted to the full-size P320 Pro slide, VTAC slide, or the Procut slide or do they require plates? Excluding the Max slide and the X5 slide, what slides, including aftermarket, can the Romeo3 Max direct-mount to?

  4. How far back can the Eemann Tech Ultimate Trigger be set compared to the OEM Shadow 2 curved trigger? Specifically in double action and without a reach reduction kit. I've looked and haven't been able to find an answer. I've found a couple of comparison pictures but they didn't say if the UT trigger was adjusted to the rear or not. I know slight tolerances can be different from gun to gun. I have all CGW springs but the stock S2 disconnector.

Yeah, they probably know more about that than I do as other suppliers change their pads periodically.

They are designed to fit my basepads and others with a standard-size pin hole.  Shoot me a PM with your address and I can send you one I've been messing with to try if you want.

Oh wow. Thanks! I'll send you a PM now.

BSPS shop should have some of my aluminum retainer plates (if not, they're on Shockbottle.com at vastly inflated MSRP).  Break the pin off one of those and I'll be impressed.  They're not captive to the spring, but very strong.

Thanks Roy. I saw those on BSPS and wanted them but in the description it said they don't fit the Henning basepads. I'm assuming the nipple on the aluminum one is not long enough for a secure engagement in the hole of the Henning Pro Production basepads. That's just my assumption based on the "does not fit" statement on their website. If there are some of those aluminum ones with long enough nipples I'll jump all over them.

I don’t know the answer, but I’ve been a little disappointed in the quality/durability of the mec-gar mags.  I had a follower break on one just from practicing reloads and dropping them on soft carpet.  In looking at it after it broke, it was pretty easy to see why it happened; it’s a cheap, fragile, and extremely thin plastic part.  I guess I’m not surprised to hear of other parts breaking on them.  The good news was that I emailed CZ and they sent me two new followers right away.   Get ahold of them and I’m sure they’ll take care of you.

That stinks that happened to you. I've generally had good luck with Mec-Gar til these incidents happened. I'll reach out to them. Thanks.

  8. I'm having a little issue. I'm the last 3 weeks I've had three nipples break off of the locking floorplates in my CZ Shadow 2. This causes the basepad to slide forward or off completely. I'm not sure if I'm using the wrong springs, if I just have had bad luck with floorplates, or if there's something I've missed or could add.

These are my Production mags. They're all 17 round Mec-Gar with Henning Pro Production basepads (round hole) with literally brand new factory Mec-Gar springs and both Mec-Gar round hole locking floorplates and the Stoeger round hole locking floorplates.

Is there something I'm missing, should change, or did I just have a string of bad luck?

  9. I need to get a holster that'll fit the Align Tactical Thumbrest Takedown Lever. I have a Comp-Tac for the P320 but it doesn't fit the Align Tactical thumbrest and I do not want to dremel that much out to make it fit. My holster is marked for the P320 and not the X5 but I have a TXG frame. If I get the X5 Comp-Tac holster will it fit the Align Thumbrest without dremeling? If it doesn't fit I'll just order a RHT. I will get the RHT anyway but this is more of a want to shoot it now kind of thing.

I don't think it was a sanctioned USPSA match prior to the Nationals merge in 2006.

ETA: Gary Stevens would probably know...

I can't remember which year it was but I shot the 1st Single Stack Nationals at PASA. I won my class in the 1st one so I've got a plaque in a box in a closet here somewhere and it'll have the date on it. I may be off but I'm thinking 2005 or 2006 and that specific match was a standalone Nationals that year. I wish I had been able to shoot the match even before it was a sanctioned USPSA match.

  11. Thanks everyone. I messaged Sig Armorer. I feel similar about a coating or Cerakote. I want to get it done but I don't need it done. My main focus is that it runs like a scalded dog and not the coating. I'll eventually get it coated in something but the most important part to me is that it runs.

  12. I started buying parts for a Carry Optics project a few moths ago and then I stalled while I got the optic. I have a TXG frame, Grey Ghost full-size slide, Leupold DPP, and a Sig Custom Works P320 FCU.

I want it to be a shooter and to function. I don't have any experience with Sigs so I don't want to screw it up if I do it myself. I also want to get it cerakoted.

Is there a one-stop shop I can send it to finish the build, they supply the parts I don't have yet, make it run like a scalded dog, fit parts such as a barrel and true the action, and cerakote it? I looked at Gray Guns but I didn't see Cerakote on their site.

Can you even use optic plates on their slide cut? I thought their cut was geared towards RMR/SRO. Deltapoint and Romeo 1 Pro

Good question. I will just contact GGP because I don't know the answer to that and I was making an assumption. I'm glad you asked me.

  14. I picked up a Grey Ghost Precision Version 1 full-size slide and now I'm optics hunting. Currently I'm looking at Rome3 Max, Romeo3 XL, and the FTP Alpha 3. Has anyone mounted any of these on a Grey Ghost slide and which optics plate did you use? I'm pretty sure all 3 mount the same but have slightly different body length.

  15. I'm not familiar with which mags normally run the best in the X5 Legion. Which brand are you guys using and is there a difference in reliability between companies for the 17 rounders and the 21 rounders?

  16. I have a friend looking at buying a P320 X5 Legion. He has smaller hands. Is there a reach reduction available for the Legion? If not, is there a trigger, curved or flat, that has the shortest reach between them?

I have it and I like it...

With Eemann Tech disco I cant install pretravel screw, but it is small enought...

As per informations on Youtube, Blue Loctite is must have on over and pretravel screws...

That's wild. You not being able to install the Eemann Tech pretravel screw with the Eemann Tech UT sounds like you either received one of the pieces miscut or a design flaw from Eemann Tech.

  18. Good info gentlemen. Thank you. I have CGW springs all around but still have the stock S2 disconnector also. I think I'm going to go with the Eemann Ultimate trigger.

Did either of you or anyone else try the Eemann with a reach reduction kit? I'm guessing it's not necessary.
