  1. Hey everyone, I am having an open 2011 built for me this year and I am debating on having the frame, mag bodies and, slide AlTiN coated. Who is a good coating company to go with for this?
  2. I'll give that a try I've got a bunch of that around
  3. A good friend of mine is having me load up some .308 for him with hunting in mind and I have found a load that works well for that with his rifle. But he also has a .308 AR with a 16 inch barrel with a pretty nasty brake on it I have some 110 gr bullets that I want to load up for him to just make some noise and muzzle blast with some friends of his that are big gun nuts. I am mostly a USPSA shooter so in my world light bullet with slow powder means for more noise and blast forces, is this the same for rifle? And I am not wanting something that will do damage to his rifle just something for a bit if fun for a couple rounds.
  4. They are all the same diameter And all plated, thank you for the help guys!
  5. I'm planning on doing some new load development for 9mm. Do I need to adjust my crimp die for different bullet weights? I'm loading on a Dillon 650 with the Dillon crimp die.
  6. I'm not completely sold on either optic so I am very open to a better choice if there is one, the mount was fairly inexpensive so if i need to modify it for a better optic I have the means available to do so. Is there a particular Holosun people most go to for open?
  7. I just got a DDP mount for my Tanfoglio Gold Team and was trying to decide between the DDP and Holosuns. I have been reading a lot about failed DDPs and having to send them in regularly for repair and I'm not willing to have an optic that needs to be sent in on a regular basis. Has anyone running open with a DDP had any issues with them? And has anyone been running either the Holosun 407k or 507k for open and what do you think about it?
  8. It's not very solid right now, it's butted up against a cabinet right now that I haven't had a chance to tear out so it kind of floats a little, I'll have to rip that out soon and see if that helps thank you!
  9. Hey everyone I bought a casefeeder for my 650 a couple months ago, I have about 5k cycles through my press between decapping brass and loading live ammo and every so often it drops a case in upside-down. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?
  10. Hey guys, I just switched to open from revo and have a Gold Custom in .40, I would like to get at least 170mm mag if I can. I have not been able to find one for tanfo mags in any caliber, would a CZ 9/40 extension work on tanfo mags?
  11. Yeah I saw that, I think I got off lucky too.
  12. That is what I thought and I didn't continue because of it, thank you all for the clarification. To me and all of our shooters it was an eye opener to look thoroughly at all the internals of a competition gun bought used.
  13. I was done regardless once it happened I knew the gun wasn't safe to shoot. My RO thought that it might be a warning since it was mechanical and if it happended again it was a DQ. I took a DQ because I knew it wasn't safe at that point.
  14. A few months back I bought a Tanfoglio gold team used from a dealer on here that he took in on trade. I have put a few hundred rounds through it on the range just to get used to it and to get my handloads figured out and it ran perfectly from the start. This past Sunday my local club had our first match of the year, during the first stage the timer went off, I burned the first mag up and went to slide lock. I reloaded, grabbed the slide Rackers to send it home and the second themail slide was in battery the gun discharged. My finger was no where near the trigger and I stopped and cleared the gun right away knowing it wasn't safe. The RO's were not completely sure how to handle the situation since it was clearly a mechanical failure, how should this have this been called? I bagged the gun and did not continue the match with it. After the match I tried to see if it would happen again and it did. Once I got home that night I pulled the internals to see what had happened and the previous owner had modified the sear in a very dangerous way...lesson learned when buying a used competition gun look at the internals before taking it to the range...
