Fairly obvious what the parts are intended to do....... Are you certain it is from S&W? The machine work looks like S&W quality but could it be from an old Taurus or Rossi?

Interested in ICORE shooting; what is a good holster for S&W 6" 686? I have checked Blade tech and Safariland sites but don't see enough info to make a choice easy. Are there better options? Thanks, Jim

Some of these modified hammers look interesting....... How does their performance compare with the expensive Apex hammers?

If the hammer contacts the frame, overall pin length (and protrusion) would seem to be the important factors.

After checking the Icore rule book, I still am unsure about legal mods for Classic division. Are spurless hammers legal? How about rounded, polished trigger? Thanks.

My pin measures .489 and is pointy but not quite as pointy as the Apex pin. The Apex pin that I have is .495....

Are the last two pics of the same hammer that is in the top pic, after you salvaged it or of a different hammer?

Your pic of the S&W stock pin looks very much like the Apex pin that I have. I think I have read someplace that the PC pins are from Apex or they are of very similar design. The weight numbers you gave are helpful. Thanks, Jim

I am setting up two S&W 629 Classics for DA, mostly for fun shooting in my back yard. I want the lightest DA pull I can get with reliable ignition of Federal primers. Will an aftermarket firing pin help? Is there any real practical difference between the C&S and the Apex? Thanks
