  1. Thanks for the info. Is the gun as flat shooting as the advertisements say it is? How would you say it stacks up to the current top picks, (a Staccato for example)? Last question...would you buy it again if you had to? Thanks again.
  2. Just a question about these pistols. They made a big splash when first announced, but I think little has been mentioned about them since in the context of competition. If they are as good as the advertising and occasional reviews say, I would think they would be really sought after. Anyone using either for USPSA as well as any "Top" shooters? Just curious... Thanks.
  3. I got the Red River Tactical Duty Light holster without the retention kit. Great holster, great service.
  4. I run a TLR-1 on an M&P full size (4 1/4"), and while there isn't a major difference in weight, the low and forward location does make a noticeable difference in muzzle rise. Others who watched while I shot said it shot flat like a comp'd gun. IIRC, I paid about $125 for the light, but I had to get a light bearing holster for another hundred or so. Would I do it again? Yes I would.
  5. I've always understood "reverse sensitive" powder to loose pressure/fps in hot weather and increase pressure/fps in cold weather. Back in the early '80s a lot of us used Winchester 452 AA for 200 gr. major .45 loads. I no longer have chrono info for it. It also was reverse sensitive so it was common for shooters to keep their ammo in baggies in the lunch cooler before getting chrono'd. Just my thoughts...
  6. I found that carefully prying the safety lever out slightly away from the frame with a flat blade screwdriver has made it much more accessible. I used to miss hitting the safety enough to be concerned about it, but now I hit it every time.
  7. I've had somewhat opposite results with the EGW 7 rd. checker. No problems until I got a Springfield RO Target. Factory ammo worked fine. My reloads, both lead and jacketed worked in 6 other pistols and dropped in the checker ok, but a bunch of them would not chamber in the RO. Checked LOA, etc. Apparently the checker has looser specs then factory ammo.. I took the barrel to a gunsmith and he tweaked the chamber with a reamer. Now life is good.
  8. Yes it looks normal. I'll load some up and chrono them to get some actual results. Thanks to all for your input.
  9. Well, I picked up some old WW452AA that a friend had used for trap loads. I used tons of it back in the '80's for 45ACP. Great powder for that. I'm guessing the powder is 30-something years old. It came in an opened 10 lb. (about half empty) hard cardboard factory container, and not plastic or metal. It smelled a little "sharp", as in acidic, when I got it, but the container had not been opened for an unknown amount of time. Since then, the smell has gotten more "normal" like the other recent powders that I have. Jus tying to get an understanding of any possible problems I may run into. Thanks for the replies...
  10. Any risks using old "stale" powder in low end pistol caliber loads, other than inconsistent velocity?
