  1. Has anyone who has this carbine tried any drop in triggers? The website says it doesn't reccomend using any, but I'm curious if any tests have been done outside the manufacturer by you guys.

also, my local got 3 in stock and I handled one yesterday. It's an interesting piece for sure. The bolt is, as stated above, "unique". And the shortened upper and lower are also interesting as well. Has a solid looking LRBHO assembly and a built in feed ramp. The weight seems pretty light compared to full sized alternatives.

  2. I have one that I bought from a fellow enos member. I'm still working tirelessly to find the best combination of buffer and ammo. However, I will say without question that I like it head and shoulders over my first pcc that had a full 16"barrel and a comp and a 15" hand guard. Here's why..

the heavy barrel gun had less dot bounce and my double taps at about 35' were within about 2" of each other.

the ULW has a bit more bounce, but with a firm grip and a stout shoulder weld the dot is back on target almost as quickly as I can pull the trigger. Double taps at about 35' are about 3". So, slightly less accurate on follow up shots, but well within Azone parameters.

The reason it wins out is simply the weight. It is noticeably easier to run with, transition, and one-handing the rifle.

Also, in my last match I had some target about 50' out and I had no problems scoring all A's on them. Sure a true rifle might be better for 75'+ targets, but how often do those pop up in a uspsa match?

  3. I can't definitively answer that question. In each match where I've used the mags I've had failure to feed problems multiple times. However, these are the only mags I've tried so I don't know if it's a gun issue or a mag issue.

All I can say with certainty is that taking them down to clean is an event.

I now have a pair of wilson 10 round mags that I'll be testing this weekend in a match and I hope to get a tripp hybrid follower to try as well.

    We we shall see...

The Wilson 10-round mags are great, but there is a potential problem loading with a closed slide.  They require a definite shove to seat properly.  I cured that problem by substituting Tripp Hybrid followers.  Use the Wilson spring.  The Hybrid follower is concave, where the Wilson is convex.  It gets you to the point where a normal insertion latches the mag in place.  Once I did that, I have had zero problems with feeding, insertion, or mag dropping.

This is exactly the info I was hoping to find. I have the same problem with the stock wilson mag and followers having a difficult time reloading on the fly with a closed slide. I was looking hard at the Tripp followers...now I'm going to order them.

i have 5 of the McCormick mags, but they are a royal pain to take down and clean during matches. Maybe there's some magic trick I don't know about, but for what I know they are a pita!

crisp 3lbs, short reset, amazing value and they come in flat or curved. I have 3 of these and a 24c. I like the 24c the most simply because of the adjustable finger pad, but aside from that these triggers from delta are pretty much the best bang for the buck for lesser priced drop ins.

Good Grief - you learned a valuable lesson here... NEVER buy gunshow reloads. You are lucky it did not blow up your gun or worse. Pitch it in the trash and buy some decent factory ammo.

Indeed I did. It's as good as gone.

Hello: Some of the bolts that I have seen have actually had the gas key screws not torqued at all. You could could turn them at least a half a turn. I removed them and put some red LocTite on the screws. Problem solved. As for the pinned in weights on the buffers just remove the weight and pin and setup your buffer to suit your loads. Or just get a bolt that has no weight installed in it like the JP. Thanks, Eric

Eric, I inspected the screws on my NFA gas key and they were loose.  I followed suit and applied locktite (blue because its all I had) and wrenched down on them. After almost 200 rounds I inspected it again and they are still rock solid tight.  Thanks for the tip!

If it continues, message me your order number or email. The barrel was revised and as you stated will run great in it's stock configuration. Just about every issue that we see come back recently pertains to either too light or too heavy buffering. We went through several variants of weights and springs before we went with what it actually ships with and we know it is reliable in that configuration.

I'm curious, you say you went through "several variants of weights and springs....we know it is reliable in that configuration" --should I assume this is using some brand of factory ammo?  IF so, mind sharing what ammo you used and the data?  Also, what spring and buffer di you land on for the factory ammo use?

Also, have you guys considered testing your barrels / buffer combinations to figure out what suits competition shooters who will likely be shooting ammo that is considerably lower power factor (typically in the 130-140pf range) to that of most factory ammo (typically over 145pf) from 16" barrels, and also longer loaded?  It would be a great service if a company like yours with all of your resources available to do some testing and then be able to market certain setups directly to the competitive realm as opposed to just general builders and Timmey tactical +P folks.

  9. Bought a box of 115fmj at the gun show this weekend to see how it did.  It jammed on every single attempt.  It simply would not feed, even hand cycling the rounds wouldn't go into battery.  On the other hand, I shot 180 rounds of the precision delta reman 9mm FMJ and didn't have a single hiccup. Looking at the ammo it appears to have very little, if any, crimp.

Anyone else ever try the white box?  Successful?

  10.  Update. I took the gun to the range and ran 200 rounds through it. I did everything from slow single shots to double taps to triple and quadruple taps. I only had one issue with one round. It was a precision delta remanufactured 9 mm 147 fmj. The round went into battery but it obviously hit the barrel extension pretty hard because it was not locked into the bolt (so it did not fire when I pulled the trigger) and upon inspection the primer was not hit and there was a pretty good size plateau on the nose of the bullet (forgot to take a picture).

I shot 100 reman precision deltas, 80 SNS coated 125's, and 20 factory Winchester.  Overall I would say it did pretty well and the reman precision deltas were clearly softer than my reloads.

also, the setup with the taccom ULW and my JPSCS shoots very well. The dot barely moves and it returns to target amazingly fast. Double taps at 10 yards fit into a 50 cent piece on every try.

At 20 yards shooting doubles and triples I never left the A zone.

Oh yeah, I've never cleaned a 6 plate rack as fast as I did today. And it's at 25 yards...Amazing!!

NFA style lowers? PSA? go figure........Just went thru this with a young lady in Texas.......could not get her gun to feed at all. She just happen to have an identical lower in her safe, assembled. And just for S&G's she put the upper on that other lower and it runs like a whipped mule.

WHat does this tell you? Think about it......with these 2 particular lowers......you have 2 crowds: Mine's run great since day 1 and This thing is a jam-o-matic!!

So either there is a QC issue or WIDE open tolerance. I'll never recommend either lower to any shooter.......but if you have one that runs? Good for you!!! As for me? Colt or MPX mags and if you insist on running Glock mags? Go QC10, they seem to know what they are doing.

Tim, I think you hit the nail on the head... My lower has a very loose tolerance in the magwell!  I put a mag in and it wiggles around like a limp noodle.  So, to further test the theory of QC10's being better, I just called a buddy of mine who has a qc10 glock lower and asked him to insert a mag and see if it wiggles.  He said it fits in like a glove and barely moves at all.  I think the problem is all in my lower and it's looseness!
