  1. If I were in your shoes I would by the CK PCC while their introductory price is happening. I handled one last weekend and it was very nice and light, and that was the one with the pencil barrel. The shrouded barrel is undoubtedly lighter. Also, it ran a full steel match with no issues.

im not sure if the trigger used in it, but Assuming its not a competition ready I would plan on a 24c.

So, $1,000 for the gun, $200 for the trigger, $100 for mags, and you’ll be in the game for $1300. I think it’s the best deal going at the moment.

Here my newest. Just completed today and test fired, and zeroed (15 yards), down at the range. No malfunctions whatsoever in the first 100 rounds.

It's a little on the heavy side at 6 pounds, 2 ounces, but most of the weight is in front.

    What Stock is that?

  3. Update. I got to fondle one while at a match this weekend. It is for sure an NFA style lower, but it is a VERY nice machine! It’s built well and feels solid. The weight is suprisingly light and it looks and feels very good. The grip is hands down the best AR grip I’ve ever handled...I want that grip on all of my ARs. At the current price point (regardless of the lower it’s using) I’d be all over it if I needed another! Hell, I might just “need” one anyway ?

What would happen if you failed to brush out the tube after a few thousand rounds of coated bullets?

I think he’s suggesting the residue build up might become extremely hard to clean out if you don’t clean it out regularly.

I wonder if the stuff people are spraying on their comps to make cleanup easier would help inside the aluminum shroud as well?

    Tim, thoughts?

  5. Perhaps the term NFA-spec 9mm lower should be used when describing this variety of lower.  However, I don’t know if NFA owns the patent, or was simply the first to make that design. It’s like the Kleenex of 9mm lowers. 10 companies make facial tissue, but we call all of them Kleenex.

I haven't seen pics of the CK rifles (not shooting an AR9 platform anymore). An NFA lower wouldnt have been a bad thing.

I agree. One of my pcc’s is an NFA and it works. It’s a little sloppy in the magwell and my mags can rock back and fourth quite a bit. But as long as I don’t touch the mag or have anything touching it that would change the feed angle then it runs fine. Otherwise, it’s jam city.

No. That was chronoed at Medford, OR for the USPSA Sectional Championship. I think the elevation is around 1300’.

The rig shoots very flat and soft....to me at least....and runs 100%.

Here is a video of the match...yes....I am slow and look like a dancing panda bear when I move...but just keep an eye on the carbine.

A dancing panda has nothing on you! Looked good to me :-)

so are you using the blitzkrieg? Extra smalley spring? What’s up?

NFA makes lowers for like 10 companies. Nothing new :)

On Facebook I asked directly “is this an NFA lower” and their response was, “no, CK lower”. I was like okie dokie ?

For both of my PCC's. Taccom ULW with his light buffer and JP 14.5 barrel with pinned JP tactical comp with same Taccom ULW buffer.

Steel load: 2.9grs Titegroup, 115gr SNS Casting RN, 1.12OAL Very soft, accurate, and reliable.

USPSA load: 3.1grs Titegroup, 147gr SNS Casting RN, 1.12OAL. Red dot bounces a little more in the Taccom, but super soft in the JP barrel.

    gerritm

I forgot to add that I also have loaded some bayou 147 RN with very similar numbers

    So in all I have:

    Bayou 124 Rn (steel)

    3.2 n320 *I might try 3.0/2.8

    1.12

    Bayou 124 RN (uspsa)

    3.8 n320

    1.12

    Bayou 147 RN (steel)

    2.8 n320

    1.12

    Bayou 147 Rn (uspsa)

    3.2 n320

    1.12

I should be able to chrono all this week and report back with numbers. However, my main focus now is just a steel load so I can having a winning load for the AL state match in December

    Thanks for the info!

Any reason you're loading 1.120 and not longer? I was told to load as long as possible as long as it passes plunk test and feeds well.

I’ve had longer loads and kept having issues. So far with 1.12 I have not had a single feed problem. I’m sure I could go to 1.13 but I don’t really know why folks drag them out and load long, I just don’t really understand the science of it all. I just try things until I find what works. In my gun 1.12 is what works reliably.

what pf are you making with this load? Im working on my 125gr with 1.130 oal and 3.8gr n320. I'm hoping to land somewhere near 140pf with this on a 14.5" JP barrel.

I have not chrono’d them yet as I made them strictly for steel. However, I suspect they’ll be at about 115-120pf.

The rounds I made up for matches is the same as yours except mine are 1.12oal. I made these up based on a buddy who shoots production XDM with a 5.25” Barrel and he makes 130+/- so I suspect mine will be very similar.

That load oit of your barrel should eaily hit 140, I would guess closer to 145.

  12. I think I’ve found my steel load for my taccom ULW with Jp SCS (3 steel weights, 1 tungsten, green spring, h11 smalley spring)

    124 rn bayou

    3.2gr n320

    1.12 oal

I ran a full steel match yesterday without any hiccups and it shot soft and flat. I also loaded up some bayou 147’s with 2.7gr but did not try it because the 124’s were fantastic!
