  1. I don't have any real experience with PCC, so I should keep my mouth shut as nothimg more than an armchair general at this point, but I did do a fair amount of research into PCC before Kalifornia pissed on my plans.  Look at Quarter Circle 10; if this state gets it's act together, I'll build something using the QC10 system with my preference of furniture and trigger installed.  They are Glock mag friendly and seem to have gone through some excellent design and testing.  Having exchanged quite a few emails with them, I can say that QC10 has excellent customer service-- for instance, they tested their system with the HyperFire 24C trigger simply because I asked.

I hate to say it, but would any company not say their gun tested flawlessly. Don't get me wrong the pictures of C10 stuff is nice, but can't say I know anyone who has shot, let alone owns one.
That being said, I think the Glock mag AR's are the way to go, that is the MPX aside.

  2. Doug, the JP GMR 13 and Sig MPX. The JP is good out of the box. The Sig requires a trigger. The advantage of the MPX is recoil. The MPX is soft shooting. Mine doesn't like anything over 124gr.
The GMR will run the 147gr but I find shot timers won't always pick up the shot.
As for optics it doesn't require an $800 optic, I wouldn't go get one from Walmart. Any decent red dot will do. Aim point, Vortex, SIG, Trijicon, C-more, or like works.

  3. But by definition it's not a hand gun... it does have a stock and the fore end itself is a fore grip....

That was my repeated original point. You can't pick an choose parts of rules to fit a narrative. It either applies in context or not at all. In this case there is no rule against it.

  4. I would say ask DNROI.

"PCC 5.1.12 See appendix D8. All other handgun equipment rules apply to PCC"

In D8 you have the following:

    "6
Must have stock attached and be capable of being fired from shoulder position. **Note: Sig Brace and any variant thereof is not allowed**
    Yes, see 5.1.10."

I guess the "yes" is meant to reinforce the need for a stock but then it refers you to this"

"5.1.10 Handguns with shoulder stocks and/or fore grips of any kind are prohibited."

So I guess that the second part of 5.1.10 applies... Maybe...

I don't see the correlation to 5.1.10. If applied, PCC would thus be illegal, since they have stocks. You can't cut paste parts of rules to other rules to make a quasi rule. Either all of the rule applies or it doesn't. It is okay to say no there isn't a rule against it.
When it comes to PCC there is no advantage with a vertical fore grip other than the Hollywood factor. It makes you slower, you are not able to drive the gun, and it puts a lot of strain on the wrist. A hand stop is a better option.

  5. Considering that a Texas Rancher has trained most of the top military snipers that question is a real toss up. PRS guys can throw more money at it.
With in the military the title of sniper is a loose term. The average military sniper is not that great. With only a 800m capability.
Your more elite snipers are pushing well over 1000m with tremendous accuracy.
Now, when the elite snipers get there hands on the premiere gear they hands down out perform the PRC guys.

  6. We could do this all night, However, nobody really wants that. In my case, how do I make my MPX more competitive in USPSA.
This is just the reality of PCCs and fact that they are in a class to themselves, not really rifles nor are they true pistols. They in theory fit in both categories.
Now if you have something to contribute, great!
But if you're just trolling please just move on.

  7. Wow, I put over ten thousand rounds through my 320 without a single failure.

I love my 320, but how many rounds YOU put through it, doesn't instantly justify its merits as a service weapon. Most of us on this forum are speaking from a competition background and our use of the pistol is in that context. Some have law enforcement backgrounds or military, but I would venture to say "almost" nobody has carried the 320 as a work gun.

As someone familiar with small arms procurement, it's not always as easy picking your favorite gun. It goes through a battery of tests.

A local department that am familiar with chose Glocks over 320 hands down. To the disgust of the range master I might add, he was pushing the SIg hard. That is not to say the service sig is better or worse than service Glock. They are both great guns, but there is a reason the SEALs and MARSOC just adopted Glocks.

  8. I purchased the TTI combat master 34 on the recommendation of a friend for 3gun. I had to admit at first, my first impression was it looked cool, but I wasn't sure $1500 cool. Not to mention I had previously owned a skeletonized zev g17, which I quickly sold. Hate is a very strong term but in this case very relevant. So to say I was apprehensive was an understatement with a $1500 glock. That doubt was short lived. It is a tack driver, the trigger is incredibly clean. I love the sights on it. If you are thinking about one, and on the fence on the price. It is a bargain.

  9. I just purchased a MPX for PCC. The only issue I have with is it's horrible trigger. I have heard trough some of the replacement triggers are not compatible (i.e. Timney), some work great?

What is everyone else finding success with, what else do you avoid?
