  1. We're all playing a game so I've still never really understood the negative connotation of "gamers". I don't find PCC shooters to be any different to pistol shooters in that regard. I will agree that reshoots will happen more for PCC with ROs who aren't paying attention.

That was in reference to the pcc shooters trying to run over the RO just to get a reshoot.
  2. If you take the RO and more specifically the CRO class you'll find there is gray area in the rulebook that must be navigated. Not everything is spelled out in black and white.

In this instance part of being the RO is monitoring the timer near the end to help insure an accurate time. Everything between the beep and the last shot is fairly irrelevant. I almost never bother keeping the timer up on top of a shooter during a stage until their last position.

The only division it even a problem with is PCC, and with most of them being severe gamers you have to stay as far away from the as possible until the end of the stage
  3. He aimed at a target and fired. That's engaging. If he didn't have a bullet in the barrel and his first shot would have been a squib he wouldn't have gotten a reshoot.

Reshoots are only issued if the RO stops the shooter for a suspected squib and there isn't one. If there is a squib it's scored as is.

The bullet has to pass through the barrel to be considered engaging

Um...it would seem I wouldn’t even know where to begin this conversation with you.  Are you implying you would bang a squib 15 inches down a 16 inch barrel?  And you think you can do that in the time allowed a competitor to clear a malfunction too?  I like typing, but someone else is going to have to jump in here and help with this one.

“Most” squibs are caused from no powder at all in the case, and the bullet it lodged in just the throat of the chamber. They usually prevent the next round from being chambered anyways. It’s really hard to spot a squib in a PCC because of the blow back system they operate on. You get a solid sound out of the chamber either way.
  5. What would be his basis for a re-shoot?
He should not be granted a re-shoot.

He didn’t get one, but he was thinking since he did not engage a single target that maybe he could get one. Never hurts to ask, no is the worst answer you can get
  6. Some people recently have carried bolts on their belt for PCC... and one person even mentioned a squib rod and a hammer....

    Whatcha think George?
It wouldn’t be worth the score but someone will do it or need to do it....

I actually had a guy come through Saturday with a spare BCG on his belt. It kinda had me wondering at first, then I learned about how bad those things eat firing pins. I don’t see how one could get a squib rod in the barrel without sweeping themselves
  7. Guy steps up with rifle, told to MR, gets the beep attempts to fire first shot, gun fires, mag drops to the ground, for the next minute he safely fights his gun in hopes of getting back in action, funnily he gives up, clears gun, RIC, away to the safe table he goes, comes back with 2 slugs he knocked out of the barrel. Yes he showed up to a match with a squib already in the gun. I had no indication that he had a squib on his shot or he would’ve been stopped. Stage was scored as shot. I told the RM he would probably be asking for a reshoot at some point during the day. Should he have gotten a RS since he never really engaged a single target?

  8. Okay you have a NS target over the lower potion of a shoot target. The head section of the NS is partially covering the lower a zone of the shoot target. Competitor fires a shot in the head of the NS. The bullet is split by the perf of the a zone in the NS. Does that perf apply the same as the outer perf of the entire NS target?

  9. I have thoroughly investigated the fit etc for that very thing. The holster only made the gun stick. I about yanked my belt off.

I feel 100% sure when I grabbed the pistol I disengaged the safety beacuse the beaver tail hit the web of my thumb and I continued, then I believe when pistol did free the holster my finger got the trigger.

I have a pretty wide safety. May change that.

Biggest thing is in the future, just stop when I hit a terrible grip. So I loose a second  to regrip. Better than a toe!

True! You never know when you might need to count to 20
  10. I’ve also considered the idea of using PVD coating. It’s what keeps carbide endmills sharp so it’s got to be about the toughest coating there is. As far as finding someone to do it. I would suggest a company that makes endmills. What region of the world are you in? I have close contact with a tooling engineer from Fastenal. I might be able to put you in contact with someone more local to you
