  1. I'm soon going to order a 5 post moonclip holder and was wondering if the 3.5" posts are long enough to hold 3 moonclips of 38SC or 9mm on each post? I know my 3" IDPA units barely hold two 45s when I seat them out to max o.a.l but they do work. Just curious if anyone has tried it.
  2. I'm wondering the same, the BMT mount looks like a great option for optics.
  3. I just posted a thread on that myself. In the end you will need to do some tuning one way or another and make your life easy by using Federal primers and one head stamp for brass when you get started.
  4. What is the "best powder" for 38SC with heavy bullets? I've been thinking about the VV powders for my next order.
  5. My CZC Shadow T has the LPA rear sights and I like them quite a bit. Definitely worth the money.
  6. I finally got a chance to handle and shoot a 627 PC and 929 side by side. Honestly felt about the same, I would be happy with either at the moment but I'm putting a nod to the 929 with a Ti cylinder.
  7. The bowen sights are really nice, order one now if you're interested. They have quite a backorder. Also, the 200gr load was 1.255 o.a.l.
  8. That looks nice, I think it would look even better with slab sides.
  9. Post what you find, might save me a bit of trouble! First load I tried gave single hole groups at 7 yards. 200gr RN FB over 3.6gr of Trail Boss seated to 1.25 o.a.l I believe, I'll need to check on the length. I don't have a chrono yet so I need to check velocity when that shows up. Next trip is going to be some 25yd testing, if they group well at that distance I'm going to order some more. Likely 200gr and 185gr to compare.
  10. I'm playing with the 200gr Ibejihead right now, if things go well I'll run the 185 for ICORE next year.
  11. What length is your Mid Colt? I see a lot of 0.90" cases out there.
  12. Now that it's officially a division, what are people running in L6 if you plan to do so? Are we going to see more 38s, 40s, or 45s? I'll kick it off with my 625, I'm planning to shoot this gun in L6 and USPSA for all of next year. Just got my first order of coated bullet in the mail, loaded them up at 120-125 PF and we'll see how they shoot tomorrow morning.
  13. My 625 is no longer "IDPA legal" so I'm shooting a BUG revolver next year where PF is only 95. If I can get better with speed loaders I will likely out run most of the auto guys. The gun has so little recoil that when I do a Bill Drill it feels like I'm waiting on the trigger to cycle.
  14. Since in IDPA you could only load 6 cartridges and be forced to index the cylinder every time plus you would have to run 155 power factor due to the moon clips, I guarantee the 105 power factor speedloader guns would leave you in the dust. Try as I may those speedloaders never reload as fast as moons. At 155 PF I was running 255gr bullets walking out the barrel this year, they aren't much stouter than a 180gr at 105.
  15. I am planning to buy an 8 shooter. Talked with my gunsmith today and as son as I can find a 627pc for a good price I will pick one up. He said he can make it match ready in about a week.. You're being temped to the dark side. I finally got my 625 slick as can be and all I can think about is getting an 8 shot...
  16. I wondered about that since classifiers are generally 6 shot neutral.
  17. I use the cheap $45/100 ones with my 625 and haven't had any issues. If you chamfer charge holes and use flat point or round nose bullets everything drops right in.
  18. That will be a handy feature moving forward, although if I were a bit smarter it wouldn't be necessary.
  19. Ok thanks, I sent one after I realized it but wasn't sure if it could be done from my end.
  20. I did something really stupid when learning how to use practiscore and accidentally uploaded fake results under my name with the actual title of the match I was planning to use for this spring. Feel free to get the laughs out, I was being really dumb. Is there a way to remove these from the site?
  21. I'm a certified Ruger addict, have two GP100s at the moment and love them both. About 2/3 of my handguns are Ruger revolvers and they tend to multiply in the safe. Glad to hear you found a nice wheel gun!
  22. Thank you very much for the help so far, you guys have sent me lots of good ideas.
  23. I learned a lot from my first go around last weeekend, the current MD sent me a note and asked if I'd like to design any so I sent him some ideas I thought would be good. After actually shooting them I realized a few things I hadn't considered on the couch. I'll probably spend some time this winter planning a dozen or so new stages that incorporate elements I personally haven't shot before.
  24. PM sent, thanks for the offer. Our USPSA/ICORE/IDPA/3Gun guys all run in the same crowd so we have a nice working relationship among disciplines. I'm a little nervous about how people will like my stages for next year but I'm going to try and find stuff we don't normally do at our club and incorporate it with ICORE. It'll be fun to say the least.
