Carbon over lancer ?

I am building an upper to match my other uppers feel. I was going to use an ap custom rifle length (12") carbon fiber round hand guard. However it appears this product may be unavailable or may be out bussiness? What alternative handgaurd are out there that are similar?

I started with an m3k it was one of first ones. It ran ok at first . Once I started practing loading and shooting it a lot more i started to have issues with it extracting every single cycle. I replaced some parts and it will run good for a while but it has a malfunction every now and then. Once I decided I liked the sport enough and having a cheap shotgun that malfunction at a match every now was not fun when you investing a lot time training . I bought a benalli m2 from accurate iron and love it. Starting out it is hard to tell someone to spend +2000 on custom shop shotgun. You can always trade up but I wouldn't invest a lot in sending your m3k out to get work done it. If you have money to do that start with a benalli it is way better base gun the upgrade cost will be similar. My benalli has 2-3 x as many rounds thru it as my stoeger did and has never had a FTE or any issue. It is lighter , faster, handles better, etc and cost significantly more for reason.

I changed the shims in my m2 to get a better fit. I went from a b dx to c dx (right hand 65 mm of drop). This helped a bunch but I think I need a little more drop because I still need to bring my down a little bit. What are my options for getting more drop or better head postion since this the biggest shim benalli has listed.

Thanks for all the input. I am going to pick mid level optic and buy a case of ammo to practice with. One last questions do you guys have any recommendations on optic mounts? I currently have a burris pepr mount on my other upper. Other than being a little a heavy it seems do the job. What other options are good choices for 3 gun.

I am currently running a burris tac-30 scope on my rifle. It has been a good scope to get me started in 3 gun. However, I am going to build another upper my old upper will serve as a trainer in 22lr. My new upper will be my dedicated .223 3 gun rifle. Anyways I am trying to figure out which scope to put on my new upper. Is there a big difference between a burris tac 30 and higher end scope like burris xtr, leupold vx6, or Razor ? How does vortex strike eagle fit into the mix? I just do club level 3 gun events and my longest shots 200-300 yards. So would a high end scope be much of an improvement?

How is the muzzle blast on the m4-72 or the armalite brake ?

Looking for some drills to practice related to 3 gun precision shooting.

What do you guys use for a buffer setup with your low mass bolt carrier? I was leaning towards a jp silent spring setup but wasn't sure if this would work with a super light carrier.

Do you have any specs on the new titanium carrier coming out ie price or weight ?

This is a newbie questions are the titianium bcg ie boom fab, v7, and others not worth the cost? I am assuming the aluminum ones aren't worth the cost due life span of the carrier? It was just stated earlier that jp lmos ( I am assuming your talking about the steel one) were the best. I am not doubting this I would just like a little better explainaton as why they are best. So I can make the best purchase for me in the future.

I am new to uspsa shooting and was wondering how a major match like a state match works compared to a club match. I see the cost is a lot more is this because there is a lot more stages? Prizes? Better stage design? How rounds do you typically shot at major match? How many days of shooting is a typical state match? Are they divided by class? How far in advance do you need to register for the match? Is there in good information out there on what to expect at your first major match?

Where do you get your reloading componets from?

I just started shooting competition this summer and need some advice on where to spend my time, money and energy to improve. I have been shooting 3 gun and I plan to shoot some uspsa next year. I I live I Ohio so the season is ending. I feel like my gear is good enough to be competitive the biggest gains for me are going to be thru practice / training. My plan is to dry fire thru winter based on Ben Stoegers book and live fire once a week thru the winter. Hopefully the live fire sessions will be beneficial with the cold weather. I see some issues due to my normal practice range being outside and indoor ranges being restrictive. Any ideas on this? My second questions is should invest money in reloading equipment. I currently pay .20 a shot for 9mm from freedom mutations purchased during their free shipping deals. If I should invest money in reloading equipment where do you get your components from and what is the cost ? Finally, I have been thinking about getting some training. I did some research and discovered that Bob Vogel lives and offers training 20 min from where I live . I am a newbie to this so I wasn't sure if this was the best value at this point.

What is the lightest loads that you can run in benalli m2 reliably?

Great articles I am definitely over choking . Which is resulting in some misses. Can somebody clarify something for me. Looking at the charts basically the lighter load by dram produced nearly identical results and the choke determines the knockdown power. My question is if I go from 1-1/8 ounce 3dram to a 1 ounce 3dram load does the recoil go down? Does the knock down power change. Basically does the dram tell you the recoil force or is it best to figure recoil by velocity ^2 x shot weight?

Is there any general guidelines out there for choke selection on steel and clay targets? For example at 20 yards on steel target I need modified with 7-1/2 shot. Or do I just need to go to the range pattern each choke with some different shot and play around with different targets? To understand get a good understanding of what is going on?

I wear prescription glasses and I am considering buying a set of prescription shooting glasses for shooting 3 gun. I have thick lens due to my sight being bad. What companies do you recommend buying shooting glasses and what lens tint would you get?

I checked the ejector it moved like you said it should. Here is a couple of the photos I took. The extractor on the bolt is brand new 40 rounds.

Here is a link to the slow mo videos This is the most common failure This only happened once When I put the m2 extractor spring I had failures nearly every round so I put the stoeger spring back in and a new m2 extractor and was able to run 40 rounds with no issues it seems that once the extractor wears a little bit I have issues again any ideas

It usually looks like this I don't know if the round on the bottom is pushing up on the of shell what should I be looking for? I will try to get some slow motion video this week.

Started having randomn extraction issues again. I replaced the extractor with a benalli m2 extractor about a month a go. I have ran 600 rounds thru with no issues. Than it started doing it again every 25 rounds. I pulled it apart and found the edges on the bolt jagged like the post from open class terror showed. I polished the bolt and extractor where the line was but still have the issue. I have the stock stoeger extractor spring in the m2 spring didn't seem to work last time so I went back to the stoeger spring. What should I do? I have a new m2 extractor and spring that I order last time as a spare? The only other things that I could think of is I cut some coils out of the lifter spring a long time ago and maybe it is messing with the timing? But I ran 600+ rounds with now issues. or the ejector is not kicking it out all the way please advise me what to do?
