  1. your right duke. I just worked over an xtreme model for a friend and I had to go through and polish everything as if it were all black parts. I changed out the plunger spring to a cz RPFP spring and installed a wolf hammer spring with coils clipped so it would only fire off federal and Winchester primers. From what I noticed they put in the chromed parts but the finish still needs polished. also the side of the trigger, hammer and frame wall that the trigger bar rubs on need polished. I also polished the plunger guide rod.

At the end of the day it took just as work to set my friends extreme up as it did for me to set my regular stock 2 up. Kinda sad IMHO but hey they paint is sweet.

Also after about 20 rounds out of the box the trigger stopped resetting and had to be pulled forward. I sent an email to EGPS but never got a response back. I was very disappointed to see that. If I wasn't a stock 2 guru I would have been left out to dry

  2. Idescribe, I agree with you that i over stepped when i said minor pf won't hurt anything as it was a bad analogy. I mainly was trying to say that with minor loads the window for minor flexibility is better than if loading major. i've read a few reloading manuals and understand how things work, and thorough experience ive also learned that there is always room for minor variances in most cases. I would never post something in a public forum that was unsafe and i wouldnt be doing it as well.

  3. Xtreme FP 124s are very short fat bullets. Hornady recommends 1.050 for their 124 fp fmj so the fact that I reduced powder makes up for the little bit shorter of ocl. It doesn't matter if I load a rn to 1.140 or a fp to 1.040 the primers always seem to be flattened which is only a characteristic of federal primers, cci's never flattened. They already start our flat due to my 650 and how well I seat them. So if you want to tell me that the 15k rounds I shot last year were really bad and I should have been blown up then go ahead. I wouldn't be shooting something that seems to be suspect and on the verge of blowing my hand up.

Reloading manuals are recommendations and starting points anyways.

  4. I always thought faster powders were better for loading short. I use 3.7 TG and load my 124's at 1.040. Federal primers are flat but ive shot thousands like this with no issues. I've even shot thousands of the 165s loaded at 1.145 and 2.8TG. I just don't think a minor load can hurt anything. Now once you step up to major open loads then its time to worry about loading long.

  5. The trigger still needs work. A friend of mine had me do a full polish on his. Also after about 20 rounds out of the box the trigger wouldn't reset. It had to be pulled forward, pretty dissapointing for a gun of that price. Also the basepads require a hex to take off which sucks during matches.

Overall it's better to just buy the regular model and set it up with parts and paint for probably less or the same.

Basically the 4 basepads and the egd grips will be scrapped, plunger spring replaced, hammer spring clipped, and fp spring clipped to run federals.

  6. stickboy,

The factory grips are the thickest you can get and work great once you sand the top ends down to allow access to the controls. I just took some dark walnut stain and touched them up after sanding and they turned out pretty good.

  7. i havent measured the two but some say the tanfo spring is softer than the CGW one.

I found no appreciable difference. So I thermally relieved a trs and took nearly a pound off the trigger! Yea!

    Except....

The sear spring was able to hold the trigger from returning. So about every 2nd or 3rd round the trigger needed to be manually pushed forward. Whoops :(. Factory spring back in. Reliability near 100.000% is more important (to me) than the ultimate light trigger.

Do you have a fitted T3 Disco in it? I put a cz sear spring in my stock 2.
