well.... there is your problem, you are trying the first two pins, you should be trying the 3rd pin they sent yesterday or the 4th that was sent today, hahahha
wow, afternoons went fast
-
you should have got an email from USPSA with the pin and link

WST has been great for me, single digit SD's 1.180 OAL Fed match primers, xtreme 180gr RNFP 4.9gr = 165 PF 5.1 = 172 PF @ 60 degrees for me

Well.... There is email #3.... With pin #3.... Saying to squad, still locked, hahaha ops normal I guess, at least they are keeping it interesting!!

i normally wear an XL shirt, but with an icarus jersey i need a XXL if you click on the link in the email Cheryl sent it will have the link to icarus's site and sizing chart, but usually 1 size up from what you normally wear is fine. I am talking with Diana from Icarus right now and she confirmed that it is asian sizing, i am trying to confirm with Cheryl that the size we listed for in the match management link is for the same shirt as the link she sent, if so i am uping my size
ok... hold on... just got clarification from her... the email was just confusing... ops normal... the competitor shirts are not made by icarus, the email she sent wasnt for am "additional" of the same shirt, so no need to panic, just stay confused.... but yes if you do want to order from that link you do need to be aware that it is asian sizing

well.... here is another suprise, at least for me...
just got an email from Cheryl and Icarus is making the match shirts so they will be in ASIAN sizing, so if you didnt know that you should probably update your sizing on the shirt
edit, disregard, Cheryl said that the link isnt for an "additional" of the same thing, it is if you want to order something different made by the company that made the staff shirts.... so that is slightly clearer.... but yes if you order from that link order asian size

ok, not sure if i am over thinking this. I'm trying to get everything to run as smooth as possible in my 38 super comp open gun. I got it used, and it had an 8# recoil spring in it, i was getting the feeding issue described here, i bumped up to a 9# and it seems to feed a little better when shooting with the 200 or so i have put through it, but i have not had a chance to extensively test it out yet. I radiused the corners of the FP stop a little more, and gave it a little more on the bottom corners of the extractor, i have also tried removing the front spring. The issue im getting is if i ride the slide forward instead of letting it slam it binds up (see pictures below). Should it feed smoothly even when riding the slide forward slowly or is it not an issue if it goes when shooting/racking hard? I feel like with how light these guns are sprung it shouldnt have any binding even when going slow, i can give a little more clearance on the FP stop if needed, but i dont want to try to "fix" something that isnt a problem. My 2 limited .40 2011s feed perfect even when riding the slide SUPER slow. Im thinking maybe i need to thin the FP stop a tiny bit so that the extractor has the ability to move fwd and back a tiny bit? ***** edit i mic'd the fp stop gap on the aftec (.100) and the fp stop thickness (.100) so i took a thined it a little, still happened, so i tried totally removing the fp stop to see if it would still happen... it did, so i dont think that is the issue, the extractor tension still feels crazy tight even with only one spring, especially compared to my two limited guns with standard extractors? Or again is this something that is "normal"

nice, I'll try to bevel mine a bit more I guess

Where do we go to squad once that is up?
-
this will be my first time shooting this... or really anything other than a local match... when will we have an idea of round count so we know how much ammo to bring? Figure prep 2x round count is what i have heard?
-
Does anyone have any pictures of the areas on the aftec and FP stop that might need some tuning, I am having a very similar issue in my 38 supercomp open gun
-
i tried shooting from a bench with my wrists supported on bags i didnt support the gun on anything, i can try again with the gun supported too, but like i said when i randomly loaded up the mag so i didnt know when it would go dry and dropped the hammer on an empty chamber the sights stayed perfectly lined up so that leads me to think that it may not totally be operator error since the sights appeared to hold steady with no flinching/jerking
-
I ordered a 100 pack of MG jhp, that is what I use in my open gun we will see
-
If you are shooting plated bullets the first thing I would do is pull a loaded bullet and if you can see a mark on it from the mouth of the case then load some with no mark and see what happens.
You mean check to see if it is crimped too tight? I can check, but I am sure it isn't, I just crimped enough to knock out the bell, it is set to .42

awesome, thanks guys, I'm totally not ruling out operator error, I shoot my Sig every week and going back and forth between the two could be part of it, BUT with the size of the group, and the fact that it is a shotgun spread, not a grouped error zone leads me to think it isn't just operator

not really sure what section this belongs in, but here we go.
I have a custom built 2011 40 cal Limited gun, STI frame, caspian slide, fusion bushing barrel. It runs like a champ, never has any issues. I am working on a load devolopment for it. I have a pretty descent load going right now, 4.9gr of WST, 1.180 OAL, xtreme 180 RNFP, federal match primers, it has a low PF of 165 and an average of 167 with 4 10 round strings on 2 different days. It has an ED in the low 20's and a SD of 7-9. Just need to get a little more buffer for temp changes/murphy's law rounds.
here is the issue, at 10-15 yds im keeping a 2" (or less) group with 1ish second between shots free hand, but push that out to 25 yds slow fire and that group opens up to 6"+ with no consistent area, total shotgun pattern.
with my duty sig 229 (3.9" barrel 40 cal, heavy as hell stock DAK trigger 6.5#) i was keeping a 2" group at 25 yds freehand with strings of 6 rounds 1-2 seconds between shots
with my new to me open 2011 38 super comp i am keeping a sub 2"group at 25yds at speed
I am totally willing to admit that it could just be me, however i have the followers set to not lock back the slide and i loaded the mags up randomly, when i dropped the hammer on an empty chamber the sights didnt bobble at all, stayed dead center. I also tried shooting seated with my wrists supported by bags with the same results.
IF it isnt me i have read that it could be the ammo or the gun, but what do i check in regards to those. over the chrono the ammo is consistent, but i guess that might not mean much for accuracy. I'm new to the 1911/2011 game, what can i check with the fitment/etc of the gun.

Borrowed the Dawson kit from a local guy, it definitely made things easier, still trying to decide if I'm going to buy one. A work bench and a brass hammer can work to with using needle nose pliers to bend them out works too. Don't pinch and bend the lips with the pliers, insert them closed, then open them to bend the lips open
-
Yup, same issue here, I did the ramp cut on the ribs. They were new mags which of course needed a bit of work. I had the follower jam issue with Dawson SNL base pads stock springs and dawson followers trying to get 29 and sti followers trying to get 28 consistently. I tried taking on the width a TINY bit with a vice and that helped the baby rattle a bit, still had a bit of an issue when loading to max. Got my grams springs/followers today, so far one mag loaded to 29 and cycled fine. The other mag follower rolled and jammed, I took it apart and put it back together, worked perfect....
I dunno what the answer is, the best result has been grams guts. Great reliability has been loading one under max, but Hell that can't be the real answer

Anyone have pictures of a mag that had tbd back modified to fit so we can see where/how much was removed?
-
all 30 38SC that i ran through the 550 with the 9/40/38s shell plate plunk tested just fine, that is not to say that i may not run into issues down the road, but at least it does work i guess. I also have the 223 shell plate which i will most likely use. Just curious
-
good point, i will check, thanks!!
