Thin safety set is the way to go.

I do with my son. He's 12 though.

I've been watching these and there was talk of Magpul coming out with a 140mm mag. Good thing about the ETS is they take stock base pads.
-
I use a Maxpedition Pigmy Falcon and have no complaints. I have been wanting to get a close look at the Ernie Hill one though.

Has anyone heard of issues with the storm lake barrels not fitting in the Gen 4 models?
Not the 2 I've had. G34 ported and G17 not ported. Both gen4.
-
Take a look at Columbian. They're owned by Wilton now, but older ones show up on eBay.
-
My experience with KKM and Storm Lake has been nothing but positive.

Most manufacturers have light kits for their models.

The 9mm was made by Marlin and used S&W hi-cap mags. IIRC, they also made a .45acp that used 1911 mags.
-
Look for an 1894PG to build on. It's one of the pistol grip 44's I can think of.
Mine holds 8 in the mag with the 16" barrel.
-
Rossi has some nice options also. The main thing I don't like about the Marlin is the slow twist rate. The 250gr bullets are pretty much the limit.
-
Look at the Ruger Camp Carbine in 44 mag. Basically a 10/22 setup in 44 mag...
Ruger 99/44...I still can't believe they quit making that one.
-
I've been waiting to try the 141mm ones.
-
At the same time they made .357mag, .41mag and .45LC models.
-
I load a 250gr WFNGC from Beartooth over 24gr of H110 for about 1800fps...it knocks the hell outa whatever gets in its way.
-
Here's an 1894SS44-LTD. They made between 250 and 500 for Davidsons years ago. 16" 44mag. I sent this off to Brockmans Rifles for an action smoothing and trigger job. It's one of those guns you'd never dream of parting with.

He does all of Bob Rodgers & Matt McLearn's hard chroming among others.
Is this one of the guys from Rebel when they were in Ocala? I had hard chrome jobs done by them and Checkmate years ago....both were awesome work.
-
I know this is a bit OT, but does anyone know what happened to Checkmate refinishing that used to be in Florida? They did real nice chrome work for very affordable prices.
The original guy that started Checkmate now owns Fords in Crystal River.

I load 3.2 to 3.3gr N320 with 147gr SnS coated bullets. Easily makes PF. Very soft and accurate. I also loaded as little as 2.9gr and the gun worked flawless. Good luck.
Same here with Berrys plated 147's

I have the Harbor Freight model and only use it to clean the AR15 bolt/carrier and the upper on Glocks. They work fairly well once they heat up and you have new solution, I use simple green,.
+1 exactly.
-
My son has the BOSS and I run the Springer. Both are awesome. The Springer is shorter and has less of a tendency to tilt the top if your gun in towards your body.
-
I got just as good results form diluted simple green. Put it in a cheap heated ultrasonic from harbor freight and its outstanding.
