  1. Greetings gang! Anyone here a vendor for a reputable poly coated bullet company? I need to purchase projectiles in 9 and 40. Tia! Kg
  2. I know!!! i bought a set of lee dies for 9mm and it's super easy to adjust... I wonder why dillon didn't use a similar design. Thanks for the input guys!! You guys gave me something to look into!! kg
  3. Greetings Gang, I tried searching the key term, but nothing came up. Anyway, I pose this question. Has anyone come up with an easier way to make precision adjustments on their xl650's? It really sucks trying to tighten the bullet seat and crimp die down only to have it move a little bit more when you screw it down in place. Frustrating as hell too. At least station 1 and 2 are pretty forgiving. Any advise? Thanks in advance, KG
  4. All of these guns are for USPSA Limited. My XDM being the backup to the backup. I'm going to try loading 1.165 and see what happens. I'll report back and maybe save someone else the time should they have the same question. Or I'll just keep things the way they are... It really seems like it'll be the most reliable. I probably shouldn't cheap out considering the cost of the 2011 itself... :/ Thanks guys! Kg
  5. Greetings Gang, So right now I load on a xl650. I have two quick change kits setup for my 2011 which loads to 1.18 OAL, and another tool head that I use to load for my XDM 5.25 & CZ Tactical sport to an OAL of 1.13 both in 40sw. Is there a middle ground that will allow me to reliably feed in all my pistols? What do you guys think? I want to free up one of my tool heads so I can load 45acp. Thanks in advance! KG
  6. I'm using a 12 pound spring using a 180gr rfnp poly bullet. ~170pf. Kg
  7. Lol... i guess i need to stop doing that!!! kg
  8. Fantastic write up! I too have a x95. I bought it planning on running it specifically for pcc. I'm just waiting for some mags to come in. about the lightning bow trigger, how hard was it to install? I have mine in the bag still, but I'm kind of a chicken when it comes to installing it. Also, what is your zero distance? I've been told that 25 yards is the go to. Kg
  9. What was your OAL and barrel length? You're also using 180gr bbi correct? -kg
  10. Greetings gang, I purchased a used cz75 tactical sport in 40sw about a year ago. Considering I've never changed the springs out, I figured I'd better get around to doing it sooner than later. That said, the spring that's in there has red paint on it. From what little I know, I was told that it's most likely a 12 pound spring from Cajun gun works, and could possibly be too light of a spring for a 180 grain plated bullet loaded to make major power factor. What do you guys think? Assuming it is a12 pound spring, is it too light? Should I go 13? 14? Or maybe stay at 12 and use the cz plastic shock buffs that came with it? Help! Thanks in advance. -kg
  11. Issue resolved fellas! Turns out it was CRIMP!!! I took some bullets I pressed to my pro shop along with my tool head and hundo case gauge. He looked at it, resized it, and sure enough... it seats properly now! Thanks for the assistance guys! -kg
  12. Hey fellas! It's the standard size sick bottle case gauge. It does function in my cz tactical sport, but I get a fail to feed on occasion (about 1 every 300). I don't shoot the bullets from this tool head for my 2011 as it requires a longer oal for my formula, and am yet to shoot it from my xdm and USP. But anyway tkheard, do you think I should remove the crimp die for testing? Or should I just back it out and readjust for crimp? A buddy of mine also recommended I reseat the resize decap die by raising the shell plate, screwing the die die down until it touches the shell plate, lower the shell plate and further adjust the die down 1\4 turn more. He said if it doesn't feel right to back the die up a tiny bit at a time. It sounds right, but again, I'm pretty new to reloading. What do you guys think? Kg
  13. Hey Fellas... So I'm having an issue with my undo case gauge on my xl650... I reload for several guns using the same caliber, but at different oal's That said, I have 2 tool heads with the same caliber, but one of them is setup to load at a longer oal for my 2011. The toolhead that I use to load at shorter oal's has lee dies in it. Last week when I seated them in my hundo 100 round case gauge, they weren't all seating(see the attached picture). I took out the resize/decap die and put it back in. This didn't fix the issue. So i ordered the egw undersized/decap die. Issue still persists. Today I went to my LGS and bought the dillon dies, put them in, and the issue still persists. Now I'm just super annoyed. I took the 9mm dies off of my other toolhead, and put the NEW 40sw dies in and it's still problematic. Just to confirm I'm not going nuts, I loaded some bullets using the other toolhead (for the 2011) that works fine, and sure enough... it works EXACTLY the way it should (see the other picture). All the bullets I pressed seated beautifully in the hundo case gauge... *sans that one bullet i short stroked where the primer is sticking up, but disregard that.) What in the world is going on? Full disclosure, even though it looks atrocious, ALL the bullets ACTUALLY FULLY SEAT in the Dillon single case gauge. I prefer to use the hundo case gauge because I don't have as much time as I'd like. Cliffs Notes Recap Things I've done to try and fix the issue: 1. Removed and reseated the Lee resize/decap die. 2. Replaed the Lee die with an egw undersize die. 3. Replaced all the Lee dies with dillon dies. 4. Replaced the toolhead for a different one (from my 9mm toolhead) 5. Swapped out the resize/decap die from my 2011 tool head... and issue persists. 6. Started drinking hard alcohol, because I have no idea what's going on. Specs on the toolhead for short oal OAL ~ 1.133 - 1.141 Crimp ~ .221 - .228 Specs on the the toolhead for my 2011 (which works 100% of the time) OAL ~ 1.178 - 1.185 Crimp ~ .221 - .228
  14. Greetings Gang, I have a few questions. 1. What is the best OAL for reloading 9mm for use in 2011's? 2. Is there an OAL that will accomodate 2011's and glock 17 magazines? 2. Do i need to purchase new 9mm magazines? - It appears that a common oal for 9mm in 2011 is 1.18 oal. The same oal that i load for .40. I can logically conclude that I won't need new magazines if this is the case... right? Thanks in advanced guys! KG
  15. Hey Everyone, I want to start this post off with this statement. I'm incredibly new to reloading. That being said, I'm reloading for 2 different guns, my custom 2011 .40 with a barsto barrel, and my relatively stock xdm 5.25 .40 of which the goal is to make major power factor on both guns. I'm using a xl-650 to reload with two different tool heads as I think it'd be easier to swap out tool heads rather than readjust everything. There are three questions to this post. 1. What's a good recipe that will make major (i'm aiming for 172 power factor) for my xdm 5.25. .40 using 180 gr rnfp hpcb and vv n320? I came across a recipe on the sage reloading facebook page which is as follows: 180 gr rnfp, 4.6gr n320 @ 1.125 oal. This makes 170 power factor. I cross referenced this with what I found on the vv website (but isn't an exact match) which shows: Starting Load: 180 gr Fiocchi LTC (i have no idea what ltc means), 3.5gr n320 @ 1.126 oal. This makes 883 fps Maximum Load: 4.1 gr @ 968 fps 2. The recipe I found uses 4.6 grains of n320... over .5 grains the manufacturers maximum load. Is this safe? 3. Is there really a big difference in barrels? Couldn't I have just found a recipe on a glock forum from someone who reloads a glock 35 and just used that recipe because the barrel lengths are similar? I apologize for my ignorance... I just like having my guns in one piece and retain use of all my extremities. -kg
  16. Hey guys, I'm super new to reloading and have a question that fits this topic. I was told to load 1.118 oal, n320, 180gr hpcb. It seems like a vast majority of you are using 1.18. That being said... does .062 really make *THAT* much of a difference? -kg (pardon my ignorance and noobie-ness. I'm trying to not blow myself up. I'm pretty sure I got the terms wrong too.)
