  1. Thanks for the quick response. I do have a spare tip, my machine runs really well, just looking at how long parts last.
  2. Howdy, I have had my 550B since late December, loaded 10,000 plus rounds on it so far. I am wondering if anyone has an idea how long the plastic tip on the primer tube on the priming system lasts or how soon they wear.
  3. Gotta be the 550. My press and bench are in my bedroom. Met my girlfriend months after I got my press. Told her before she moved in that I reloaded in the bedroom, she kinda looked at me funny at first. Now she even sits in there and watches whilst I make nice 9mm cartridges for her Glock 19(and mine too)
  4. Got my 550 from Brian at the end of December, everything runs really well except some chatter/roughness with the priming system. Nothing has failed, but it could be smoother. I just received Primer Track Bearing plate from Walnut. Took just a few minutes to install and I loaded a few hundred rounds and the press does indeed go smoother than stock. No chatter, no issues. I am happy with the purchase. Thanks Walnut I also have a Bob Chute and a Inline Fabrication Skylight on my press. Also good products. Ranger Bob
  5. I just found a part number for the tabs at Dillon, ordered some.
  6. I have the pins, and a spare. I am looking for the plastic tabs or the thickness of the plastic tab material.
  7. Howdy, I've been loading on my 550 since the end of December. Everything works very well, however... I have more than a few times, taken the locator pin out of station 2 or 3 to check a powder weight, set the pin in my bullet tray, and forgotten to put it back, thereby crunching the case if it's station 2. Does anyone know the thickness of the plastic tabs on the 1050? I am thinking of finding some plastic and making some tabs. Or, does Dillon sell the tabs separately? If I see a blue thing in the bullet tray, I most likely won't forget to put the pin back.
  8. Howdy, I was able to obtain 1000 Zero 125r JHP's back in August or so directly from Roze(Zero). I have loaded them all and cannot find a source with them in stock, neither Roze or Powder Valley has them. Anyone know of another source for these bullets?
  9. Dies, scale, tumbler, calipers, for pistol rounds. A trimmer for rifle cartridges. I would start by loading your most used caliber, then save some dough and start getting set up for the others. A way to save money buying used equipment in this and other forums classified ads. I personally have bought a scale, calipers, dies and a tumbler and saved over 50% off retail doing that.
  10. Update: I set up my press on 12/29/14. I have loaded 3000 rounds of 9mm as of today. I set up the dies, shell plate, primer system, and powder measure using the instructions from Dillon. I cleaned it up during set up with some alcohol per the sticky at the top o the page and put some 30wt oil on the ram, and made sure their was grease in the zerk etc. In those 3000 rounds, no primers have misfed, the shell plate has stayed adjusted, and the powder measure throws 5.7 grains 99% of the times I checked. Am I doing something wrong?
  11. I don't get up to Alpine very often and it's a 200 mile round trip, the hardware store there doesn't usually have what I need. When they do, it's very pricey. I am totally relying on mail order at this point.
  12. I would rather buy the once fired brass in the caliber I need. Sorting is not something I like to do
  13. Well, my 550 is working very nicely at this point, have made a few tweeks and small adjustments that were needed. Since I have another pistol in addition to my 9mm, and I simply cannot stop thinking about the other components sitting under my bench, plus the fact that my Colt hasn't been shot in months, I just had to order the Deeluxe conversion setup in 45ACP. After I placed the order with Brian at midnight CST, I was finally able to go to sleep. Thanks again Brian and the forum crew, you folks make it much easier to make decisions!
  14. I have an Inline Skylight on my 550 and some bin barriers from Dan. Even though I have a lot of light in the room, not much is right down in the case. The Skyllight puts good light right down in there and I can see the powder level much better than I can without the Skylight. Good stuff.
  15. I did the same as you, couldn't be happier, unless there are two surprise 4 pound jugs of Power Pistol coming...
  16. Brian, my 550 just arrived...now I have a problem. Do I go to the range, or do I set up the press? Thanks again for the great service.
  17. Outstanding! I did a lot of research and my choice of a 550 was made mostly from this forum. I spent the last year loading on a single stage to learn the craft. I have some good friends here where I live who helped me out since I was new to reloading, been shooting for many years but felt that loading my own was better for me. Looking forward to setting the press up and getting started. Thanks again Thanks Bob. I remember seeing your order as it came back from Dillon... It was all in stock and will be shipping right out. Even with the holiday, I'm betting you will receive it by mid-next week.
  18. I had to save up some money first. Put away $50 a pay check for the past 7 months.
  19. I have powder, primers etc. Just really tired of working on a single stage press.
  20. Thanks Brian and everyone here, I just ordered my 550B from Brian about 10 minutes ago. I'm sure I'll have questions once I receive it, but I appreciate this forum for all the information available.
