  1. Thanks! I have done that, I was wondering if anyone treated Gold Dots differently than other jacketed HP's since they are manufactured differently.
  2. Howdy, I am wondering if someone could help me with a load question in regards to bullet construction. I am loading Power Pistol for a 124gr 9mm. Alliant's data only has 124gr Gold Dot loads. I have two specific bullets I use, Zero and Montana Gold hollow points. Is there a difference between Gold Dots and the others? I seem to recall information about Gold Dots being a form of plated bullet. Is it reasonable to use the Gold Dot load data with the Zero's and the MG"s?
  3. I use both Zero and Montana Gold 125gr bullets. The COAL I use is 1.120 for the Zeros and 1.10 for the MG's
  4. I have a bunch of CBC brass and it works fine on the 550 and in my Glock 19
  5. I installed the bobchute, beveled the decap pin, put a little neomydium magnet on the part of the hopper that moves, and use a safety pin in place of the cotter pin
  6. Well, Dillon sent me some e-clips which is excellent service. I did order some today off Amazon though. Seems kind of silly to put Dillon to the hassle of sending me more in the future, for parts unique to the press it makes sense to ask for them from Dillon.
  7. Not quite 800 miles, but everything is a long way off
  8. Dillon is sending me a couple. I'm going to get a bunch on-line as well to keep a supply.
  9. I'm going to call Dillon tomorrow. I live 100 miles from the closest hardware store and I don't go to town very often at all, so ordering them online is my best option.
  10. Howdy, I have loaded 23,000 rounds on my 550B over the last year and 3 months. All is good except yesterday the little c-clip on top of the sizing die broke. There was a spare in the die box. Does Dillon have a part number that I can use to order some more for spares?
  11. Update: One year ago today, I started loading on my Dillon 550. In the last year, I have loaded 14,800 rounds of 9mm, using 12.68 pounds of Power Pistol. I have had a couple of minor glitches, learning the system and keeping it clean. Best decision I have made buying the Dillon. Thanks again to Brian and all here at the forum.
  12. I did the bevel thing, no primers on the floor. Yay! On December 29th, I will have been loading on this 550B I bought from Brian for a year. Before making a decision on which progressive press, I read this forum and others about reloaders, then tried out an LNL, an RCBS, a 550B, and a Lee. The Dillon ran the smoothest, to me. Glad I made the choice I did. Thanks to all who answered my noob questions this last year.
  13. Bet you don't have to drive far for practice. Nope, just a few miles. Have three steel challenge stages set up, and have some arroyos with sneakily hidden steels that we work with. Nice to have a friend with many sections of land.
  14. 250+ miles southeast of El Paso, 230 miles south of Midland. Alpine has the hardware store, 100 miles north of me
  15. It might be a good idea to take the rod with you! Thanks for that. My mind is way off in lala land, bad day at work.
  16. Does anyone know what thread is on the failsafe rod? I gotta drive 100 miles one way to the hardware store
  17. Thanks everyone. I was able to get some of the 125gr bullets and worked up a load that I like. After starting at the minimum, I worked up to 6.0gr of Power Pistol at 1.120. The chrono showed an average of 1134 fps, my extreme spread was 29 and my standard deviation was 7.7. Pistol is a Glock 19 I like these bullets
  18. Howdy, I am wondering if anyone uses the Zero 125gr hollow point in their loads in 9X19. I have heard some second hand good stuff about them, but would like some first hand experience.
