  1. I was one that put a magwell on my S2 and started cocked and locked. There were 5 or 6 other LO shooters in my squad, a couple with Legions or Sig M17's, and the others with Atlas or a 2011 of some flavor. I used Taylor Freelance extensions with a Boss Components magwell. I had to relieve the tops of the extensions to allow the mags to lock in.

I shot our local Sunday with a guy with a Shadow with a Springer magwell. I think I'm going to try it, so I can run my brass SSI Scales grips. TTI had a 31% off site wide sale and I grabbed some of his CZ extensions to try.

I imagine next year there will be way less iron sight shooters at Nat's. LO is growing fast, and it's basically going to be another shot at a National title for all the CO guys who shot their Nationals several months before.

A couple friends that have shot the last couple Nat's at that range said they don't plan to go back to Nationals when it's there. They felt the stages have been kind of trash every time.

Most guys liked our Area match better than Nat's.

I'm glad I went. It was in my backyard, I got in when the slots were added. It was definitely challenging. And I'm glad I had a dot and a solid zero.

I would change two things about Cardinal nationals if I had a magic wand:

    1. More shoot-any-direction bays.

    2. Warmup/sight-in bays open before AM squads' first shots.

Otherwise I think it's a great facility, although I'm slightly biased because it's a super-easy drive for me.

Yeah, the bays with the concrete walls suck, but they are using bullet traps to try allow more directions other than directly down range.

I just got one of those this morning. Put it on my gun wracked the slide and the dot turned off and wouldn't come back on. Removed and reinstalled batter, dot came back on. Wracked gun again, dot went back out.

A buddy of mine said he had the same issue and bent the batter tabs installed the batter and bent the tabs back. Saying they were to tight not allowing the battery to fully seat. I'll probably try this tonight and see if it gets it working. Otherwise it's basically DOA.

Hope I got one like KC's! Good luck, to both of us. You may need to use the "Lifetime" (5 year) warranty.

    - normal da/sa Shadow 2 optic ready, starting "cocked and locked"

-TS Orange in 9mm, milled or dovetail

-TS2 in 9mm, milled or dovetail

-SAO Shadow 2 either milled or dovetail

Is there anything about one of these models that really precludes it from the division? Like does having an LPA cut slide prevent turning it into an optics gun easily? Weight? Barrel length? Magazine and magwell issues?

I added a Boss Components mag well and SSI TS mag well-cut grips to my Shadow 2 and start cocked and locked for LO. I already had the CGW short reset trigger in it, so the trigger starts nearly up against the frame when cocked, so the trigger reach can't get any shorter. I handled a SAO Shadow 2 recently in a shop, and the stock trigger reset is a lot longer than my gun, and I did not feel any advantage in it. As has been said, a conventional DA/SA trigger can run in CO ad LO. My gun has been milled for an SRO.

I smirked reading this thread... Oh how a little time changes things.  Not even a full year ago people s#!t on the prodigy like it was the worst gun ever.  Now people are arguing it's a better buy than the Stacatto.  I'm glad to hear they got the problems ironed out. I always liked how the guns felt in my hand.

Right? About when STI became Staccato, semi-custom shooters were crapping on them for build quality. Now Staccato shooters have a gun of their own to look down on.

Same thing happened to my dad.  He did everything else left handed though.

I write, throw, shoot long guns, and use a fork right handed.  Kick, bat, drive nails, shoot handguns, swing a racket, brush teeth, talk on the phone, play ping pong, golf all left handed.  Fortunately I am right eye dominant.

To the OP, the Shadow 2 safeties are the same as the TS2 safeties. I also got my ambi from Eric G. in France.

I do everything left handed, except when it comes to swinging a ball bat or golf club. Dad taught me to do those things, and he was right handed. Mom was left handed.

Pretty sure they are or were Blem versions but I snagged one also and I’m content with it. Still waiting on a 507 Comp to show up, but the fit and finish of the plate is up to par with all expectations and looks like it flares out from the slide to the optic dimensions cleanly. Replaces u notch rear sight with a square notch rear of same height. Also comes with two sets of different length screws for trijicon or for holosun mounting. For $70 it’s a win.

    Nice, mine arrives today.

No, they did it correctly. Major in new divisions would be dumb if the object was for people to shoot them. But that has been hashed out about a million times already on this site. How is limited optics doing in your area?

Pretty good in SW Ohio. 10-15 shooters consistently at our locals out of around 75 shooters. We had a fundraiser match for a LEO/shooter last week with almost 100 shooters, and there were 18 in LO. Similar to Ltd. and Open, way behind CO. But next year when people are classified and a whole season can be dedicated to it, it may increase. Bringing it out in the middle of the season when people are getting ready for nationals and other big matches, it's hard to really gauge. I only shot 2 majors this year so far, one in CO before the new division, and one in LO unclassified, because we were all unclassified.
