Mine broke loose with a distinct snap, but had no loctite on them. I actually like the bushings SA uses, nice wide flats to keep them from rotating when loosening or tightening the screws, beveled where the mag slides past them.

I think for the price of it, there are choices with a real jacketed bullet that perform similarly. A coated bullet load shouldn’t cost more than a FMJ.

A holster for the STI Edge should fit as well. I have an old Blade-Tech for the Edge at home, I'll check tonight if my 5" Prodigy fits.

Changing divisions is an excellent suggestion. Most divisions are different enough from each other, it's like shooting a different sport. Or try a different sport for a season. Trap/skeet, Steel Challenge, Precision rimfire. Great excuse to buy guns.

Its interesting to see the GMs I used to shoot with start to fall in the local match results. Age is a real factor and the kids can blaze these days.
I had this conversation with a GM recently, asking how long do you think we should do this. It is challenging to see your skills decline, and younger shooters getting even better. But I still enjoy it, and shoot every weekend there is a match. I even shot IDPA Sunday just to get to shoot. Not sure I'll do that again.

That's Optics Planet. I took a chance and ordered a green one, great price and I'm not in a hurry. Fingers crossed.

Guys around here are using Rune Tactical spring/followers and usually Henning extensions to get 24. I’m using Grams kits and Taylor Freelance extensions for 23, and they’ve lasted 3 years so far. I was thinking of setting one mag up for 24 rounds just to have.

Shadow 2 in LO

I probably developed the habit from using some harder primers for practice when good primers were in short supply. It's happened a couple times in local matches over the years and the primer has always gone off on the 2nd strike. Much faster than racking the round out. Of course it's even faster-er to use softer primers or a stiffer mainspring and check your ammo more carefully.... that's probably why it's never happened at a major.
Anyway, the fact that I *can* do a second strike is exactly the same reason that I have to, lol. Starting SA you can just use a normal mainspring that will light off any primer, so it becomes a non-issue. At any rate, I certainly wouldn't convert to SA-only. Maybe I don't need DA today, but I might some other day in some other division.
Maybe like you I developed muscle memory to get that round out of the gun as quickly as possible, shooting 1911 and 2011 guns for so long. But, even the Timmies teach tap, rack, bang. 2nd strike is great if it goes off. If it doesn't, what a waste of time.

I picked up 20,000 WSP at our local Vance's. On sale for $69 per. My 3 jugs of AA2 should be here today.

In USPSA, yes. I don't think so in IPSC.

No serious competitor is "second striking" a round. We're running the slide and getting rid of it.

Have you tried Patriot Defense aggressive grips? I picked up a set of their high swells. The aggressive texture is a hair too much but a light file makes them perfect IMO.
I have not. I don't necessarily want "aggressive" grips, but not slippery. My favorite grips so far are the SSI Scales 2.0, the ones with the big holes cut out that look like a waffle pattern. The thickness and shape was perfect, and the holes allowed your hand to "sink" into them. I have 2 pairs in brass. SSI discontinued them, but came out with a grip in the same design, but made of a delrin-like polymer.
I've also tried the Boss Components G10 grips, Armonov large and small, and the stock blue and black aluminum grips. The Armonov's were the slipperiest. They are coated with a think paint that negates the golf ball pattern. The palm swell shape is nice though.

He hasn’t visited BE since 2019 according to his profile. I’d guess he’s gone. Glad I got one. I think he was working on a super-duper new optic that never materialized.

The swell shape is great, the gripiness is lacking. They would be great if the golf ball pattern was more aggressive.

I bolted a RHT to it, passed all inspections at Nats and In Sect.

Shadow 2 in LO

can do it as SA only using a SA model or converting a DA/SA into SA only.
or keep as DA/SA and shoot it like a carry optic gun , or start in SA model with hammer back and thumbsafety on.
add magwell, and set up for optic.
Kept DA/SA, add magwell to Shadow 2 Optic Ready model.
What mag extensions are you using with the CZC mag well? What tubes, springs, and followers, and what capacity do you get? Thanks.

I have a T-1000 Henning hanger, and it is amazing. Adjustable in any direction, and no ball-joint and set screw contraptions. It's pricey, but incredible. Pick the holster you like, and he makes adapters to connect it to his hanger for all the current hot holsters. The current must-have holster is the Everglades, but $300 is steep. I have an old DAA Racer, it's fine for me.
I picked a T-800 of a prize table, and am using it for LO/CO. It's half the price of the T-1000, but is missing one direction of adjustment the more expensive hanger has.

I think the newest ones have the flat safties installed. I know there is always someone looking for the wide paddle safties on the classified. I had to order the model with wide paddles on both sides since I'm left handed. Got them from Eric Graffuel in France in less than a week.

Look for an Optic Ready Shadow 2. You'll then need to get the proper plate for the optic you want. They used to come with the wide paddle ambi safeties in the box, but I don't think they do that anymore. Or, if you get the regular Shadow 2, EGW has a plate that replaces the rear sight in the dovetail. In either case, you can start cocked and locked with any pistol in LO.
I had my Shadow 2's milled for direct mount of the SRO. Love them.

It always reminds me of burning rubber.

I shot with a Tanfo shooter at Nats with a 40 Limited Master shooting Syntech, and he keyholed all day long, so not a 9 issue alone.

Depends on how tight or sloppy the cut is. My guy is a wizard with the CNC.

Since Covid, locally, we've had some incredible 22-28 round stages that were much better, more interesting and just fun that the old 32 round stages that got the count up by just throwing a random target out for no other reason.
I found the Nats to be challenging but a bit repetitive in some areas as noted. I didn't mind the bullet traps, but I know we'd all prefer natural berms, but it is what it is. The visual start stage was strange. Either give some more time to attempt the reload and the points, otherwise you had what I saw, a squad of shooters taking all the time to get mostly A's and skipping the reload alltogether. I liked stage 18 with the 30 yard mini poppers; it was one of my better stages, but I had a dot and a confirmed zero. It would have been demoralizing with old eyes, irons and an iffy zero. I think something more in the middle could have been as challenging without beating people's d!@# in the dirt.
Holosun 507 Comp

A little off topic, is everyone's 507Comp reticles have the piece of the circle missing at 6 o'clock? When I got my green, we were messing with it at the club, and that was noticed. I see in the pics above it's missing, but never heard mention of it. More of a "horseshoe-dot" than "circle dot".
