Interesting, I have heard of having to take sti mags and flatten them out, sorry i dont have a better term for it,sort of like they swell out in the middle. How do you think the Arredondo bases will hold up? Im thinking they are plastic?
40S&W Settled on 4.2gr E3 pushing a Lucky13 coated 180gr for an average pf of 171
9mm 3.1 gr E3 pushing same bullet in 147 gr for an avg 135 pf can probably go 2.9 on the 9mm
What i found today. The STI mags run flawlessly, drop free and lock in great. The para mecgar mags are making contact with the
slide lock so it didnt feed very good. Looks like that will be an easy fix by taking a little off the mag or can file down the slide stop. Still
waiting on the Dawson Para base plates to test on the mecgar mags. Gun is very acurate and very easy to control. I need to tweek my
load just a hair but was running 180pf and the gun was easy to control.
Im thinking these guns like to be loaded short to run good, my 40 loaded past 1.130 wont run. Plunk test and started loading 1.120 and she runs like a champ.
Im gonna load up some E3 with a 180gr coated bullet from Lucky 13 and see what i get. Going to try 3.5 thru 4.2 gr and see what i get. I love this powder in 9mm so far!
I ordered 2 of the Dawson Para basepads also to try. The taran tactical pads will work on the mecgar mag for 17rds but wont lock in because of the mag well. If the Dawson pads dont work i am going to go the STI route and use the mec gars for practice mags. Let us know what you find out.
