  1. where do you get your reloads. They should be checking them before they ship. You have purchased garbage ammo. Just a thought.
  2. The only benefit to 40 in production is if you reload. If not, KKM has conversion barrels for about $125. If you change out the barrel you will need to change the ejector ($10), the extractor ($25) and mags (obvious). The conversion barrels are not production legal, but most people dont care unless it is a level III match or better.
  3. I have been shooting an Edge now for about 8 months. I did not like the grip at all, but avoided stippling. I rounded out the edges on the grip and threw on some of Eric's grip tape. It is a totally different gun. Try the tape first, its only $25 versus $100 for a new grip. I use a STI solid metal guide rod, and it feels better than the recoil master. It wasn't that expensive. Good luck on the sights. If it is a duty gun, get used to kentucky windage or go with the bomar.
  4. I made up a batch at different grain wieghts and was pleasantly surprised. Shooting the same cases, and primers there was a 80-100fps increase using the precision coated lead 185gr. bullets versas the Rainier 180gr. plated stuff. My lightest load, WST with the lead bullet, at 4.3gr gave me a ~169 power factor. Where as with the Rainier 180's I needed 4.9gr. for the same power factor. I was very impressed with the coated lead. Very simple to clean. I let it sit for about 45 minutes, and the lead wiped off with a patch.
  5. I just received my first batch of Precision Bullets (40/185gr) and I am eager to get to the press. I am loading for my STI Edge and looking for ~170pf. Any suggestions on OAL? Same question for Glock 17 using Precision Bullets (9mm/124gr). With 9mm, I am looking for something that will be light, yet remain competetive at GSSF.
  6. Check out GlockTalk.com. They have a holsters forum. Do a search and see what you get.
  7. While the topic is up, how are they for a full time duty gun? I am considering replacing my Trijicon with the Truglo. I was wondering how the Truglo would hold up to all the work..... Are they sturdy enough for day in, day out carry? Mike
  8. I've been using the Arrendondo pads for a year now and have been getting 20 rounds in without a problem.
  9. +1 on the double ears. I had a terrible flinch to overcome. I use foamies and ear protectors when I compete. It has enhanced my shooting tremendously. How is your finger placement on the trigger. The low can be attributed to the flinching; the left can be finger (pad) placement on the trigger if you are right handed.
  10. Thanks for the feedback.
  11. What was the automotive product? Pledge also works well.
  12. I considered the Beamhit modification, but need more info before I purchase it. How is the Beamhit trigger pull. I have a smooth 2.5lb pull now. Will Beamhit dupilcate my current trigger or will it be a factory feel?
  13. I searched the forums and did not locate anything about trigger reset modifications that will work with a Beamhit. I need some help from the do-it-yourselfers. I have a trigger reset kit, but it does not activate the striker so I can not get it to work with the Beamhit. Does anyone have any advice on what modification to make to the trigger so that I can activate the striker and reset the trigger/striker without manually working the slide? Thanks, Mike
