Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Very interesting results with the different ammo. Nice discussion topic.
  2. When do you expect to have the stages up. Also, is this the only official thread.
  3. I am also curious what some of the drawbacks to airsoft training. I have modified my airsoft to be identical to my actual IPSC gun. I can shoot at home any time of day, and day of the week. I think they are invaluable. In my opinion, they are a great tool.
  4. They look like something that I ordered on Ebay about 2 years ago. Mine just didn't have the tek-lok. +1 on the CR Speed.
  5. Maybe bad news. Per Brownells, they are only offering rebates on shipping this year. Sales over $150 get free gorund shipping code "GRF" Next day air is $4.95 "DA2" Overnight is $9.95 "EDN" I hope this is not the case. Bummer no 20% this year.
  6. The original grip safety is definatley not up to par. The shape is a little off for my hand, does not sit flush along the backstrap when fully depressed, and it does not bring my hand up as high as I like. Para only carries this part in a nickle finish and the current shape. The reason for refinishing was fitting a new grip safety, and I want to put front serrations on the slide.
  7. I purchased a Para PXT 1911 SSP, gun rights model, and have a few minor issues. I have discovered that the nickle finish on the slide stop, thumb safey, and grip safety are changing colors. This is a carry gun, and from contact with body oils changes the color on the nickle finish. Since I need to replace the grip and thumb safeties I am soliciting advice. What do the smiths recommend. I was thinking STI grip safety and a wide ambi thumb safety. After it is all said and done, I am sending it out to be refinished. The gun was a steal, is accurate (for government work) and it runs well. BTW - Talked to PARA about the finish, they won't warranty.
  8. I have been reloadign for just about a year, and have about 5K under my belt. The moly is easier to reload, less adjustments. Personally, I think they are easier on the barrel.
  9. Curious what you classified as.
  10. My stock STI ambi safety broke about 2 weekds ago. STI was more than happy to replace it. Contact them and I am sure they will send you another one, under warranty. Then you will definately have the right part.
  11. On the cleaning issue. I use BC molly bullets in a factory G17 barrel. The 50/50 solution works fine, but you have to discard the stuff somewhere. I recently tried the M-Pro 7 bore gel and it was great. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then wiped the barrel clean. It did not require a brush. I was very impressed.
