I have the the 90 degree mount on my 22/45 Mk III. When shooting with both eyes open, the sight on the side is just not an issue. I was doing some bullet testing last week and never had any jams on ejection out of the 5 different brands of ammo I tried. I have a 90 degree mount ordered for my G17 and do not expect any issues with it. My shooting buddy has the 90 degree mount on his G17 which I have shot a lot and there has not been any issue with ejection. His ejection port has also been lowered.

I wanted the same one in stainless for my 22/45. After talking with him, he made the same one out of stainless and it matches my barrel perfectly. I also like the 3 port design.

Can you give a little more information? I have 5 blocks which 2 are daily carry. Two more are m Steel Challenge guns. I have the other one just because it was a good buy at the time. One of my SC guns is for production so I haven't done anything to the slide. The other one is currently at L&M Precision waiting its turn at the mill. I'm not sure I would buy a stainless slide just because it was stainless.

My 5 Glocks were all ejecting about the same. The main one I shoot was a little bit worse with brass to the face, brass going straight up and bouncing back on top of the slide or just barely ejecting and falling on the ground. After doing an internet search on the problem I came across a potential fix for the problem on two other forums that were posted by Dave Nowlin. I read those and it seemed pretty straight forward but I didn't do anything with the information at that time. I searched a little more and came across almost the identical article from Apex Tactical Solutions, http://www.apextactical.com/blog/index.php/random-apex/apex-glock-extractor-g-fre-fitting/ ATS is selling a different extractor but it needs to be tuned and tested during the installation process. I followed their instructions on my stock extractor and it really changed the way my brass is now ejected. I wish I would have made a video of this, but I didn't think it was going to change the ejection of the brass that much. If any of you have a different fix, I would like to know what it is as well.

The gun should run fine with the comp. The comp will have no bearing on the function of the slide. For the comp to function as designed, a slow burning powder like Winchester Auto Comp (WAC) with a light bullet such as 115 to 125 gr will work fine. It seems a lot of people like the 124's because it gives them a little more room in the case after the powder is added. I run 13 # springs on my guns. I do know of several people using 11 # springs and they work fine. You can do an additional search under 9 mm Major and find numerous loads that would help you out.

I would think the Carver mount would stiffen it up a good bit. The mount is attached to the rail and you can see in the video it twisting a good it.

[youtube] The video shows a 9 mm G19 recoiling in slow motion. When a mount such as an SJC, Carver, etc is used and it is attached to the frame, it has to have some effect on the frame as it is flexing during recoil. It seems that over time this could cause the frame to crack, especially around the area where the frame is drilled for inserts that SJC uses. Any thoughts on this, could it cause a problem? I use the SJC and Carver so please don't think I knocking either one.

What 9 mm magazine are the open divisions shooters using for the Glock. I know the length is 6.742" - 171.25mm. Are they modifying the mags they have or buying one near this length? I have found some mags but they were not listing the length of them. Well, after posting this, I think I finally found what I was looking for. It looks like Taylor Freelance or SJC both have something. Does anyone prefer one over the other?

Take a look at the article on this link. I have 3 C-Mores, 2 new and one is 12 years old. I haven't experienced drift in any of them. However if I do, I'll follow the advise in the article. I'm currently using a Ghost for my Glocks. I'm working on a new Glock for SC and have decided to change holsters. The Ghost holster is okay, but I don't care to drill a small hole in the trigger guard to help secure it. Does the DAA Race Master require the same hole?

Someone mentioned about broken parts. This could be it. It was for me once. When the problem started I did what you did. Problem continued. I found someone that had a Ransom rest and it did the same thing. Stripped the pistol down to nothing and found a cracked locking block. Replaced it and went back to the Ransom rest, problem solved. Some ranges may have a Ransom rest you can rent for an hour or they may know someone that has one you could contact. Since that time, I purchased one and that's what I use for my new rounds. No more flinching, bad grip when shooting, etc. I just considered the Ransom rest part of my reloading tools.

I went to my eye doctor for a regular check up after posting this and told him what I needed. He knew exactly what I wanted. After the eye exam, he showed my what my regular vision glasses would look like. He extended the little chart that was in front of me to a certain distance, approximately where my sights would be and I could read everything. I got my shooting glasses from Wal Mart. They are perfect. It doesn't matter if I'm shooting regular sites or a red dot, I can now see everything sharp and clear.

As Jack mentioned, the more banging the slide mounted dot takes, the more of a chance the dot point of aim could change. With the frame mounted C-More you can easily change the dot size by plugging in another one.

Glock 17, KKM barrel with Carver 10 port comp & Winchester Auto Comp This forum really help me with a good load for my G34. I hoping y'all can now help me with another load. I did some searches here and really didn't find what I was looking for. I'm currently building a new pistol to use for Steel Challenge. With powder still be hard to find, my son found 3 pounds of WAC in North Carolina. It is on it's way to me now. So the powder for awhile will be the Winchester Auto Comp. I know I need a light bullet going fast for the comp to work properly. After reading many of the threads here it appears the 125's are popular but I haven't seen a lot using AC. I plan on using either Berry's or Rainer bullets. Since the 125's appear to be widely used in the G17, I was wondering why the even light bullets are not being used. If you have a favorite load using AC in a G17 please let me know what you're using.

I believe I'm running a 11 lb spring right now on my G34. Would this be a good starting point?

WAC and HS6 are as hard to find as any other powder right now. I guess I could a comp on and later when I can find the powder work up a load then.

I have a G17 that I'm starting to work on for Steel Challenge. For USPSA I shoot production with a tricked out G34. I have been using a .147gr Berry's with Titegroup powder. Accurate load and mild recoil. Should I stay with the same load and not run a comp or go all out. I will be using a C-More sight. The main reason I'm thinking about not using the comp is the availability of powder. N320 just cannot be found.

I've tried to locate a photo of one but did not find one on their website. Anyone have a link to the shroud?

Is there a dot size for the steel challenge that is more popular than others. It seems like a 12 might be just about right.

I want to have some shooting glasses made so I can see my sights better. Should I ask for my close up or distance prescription for the new glasses? I want to use them for my regular style of sights as well as a red dot sight.

I have a few questions regarding red dot sights. Some years ago, the main sight I saw on the range was the C-more. There were a scattering of can style sights, but mostly C-more. Everything at that time was mounted on a frame attached to the pistol. I don't ever remember seeing a slide ride sight. What are people using now; 1. Dot size? 2. Frame mount or slide 3. *Brand name of slide mount red dot sight* 4. Brand name of mount & red dot sight *There are so many slide mounted sights available now. I would like to know if I went this route which one would be the one to really look at seriously. Does the slide mount have any draw backs due to it cycling with the slide all the time?

This is true. With a comp on a 34 it would be pretty long. However, comp's really don't work well at all unless you are using a slow burning powder, light weight bullet and a lot of speed behind the bullet. A 9mm would not really fit the bill on this but a .357 sig would.
