  1. The actual feel between large frame and small frame is bugger all. I used to think I could tell but I think that was partly different grips on the different guns and partly in my mind.

Most of the difference is inside. if you look at the small frame there is more 'meat' in the back of the grip which reduces the magazine 'tunnel' down to take the smaller CZ type mags. Obviously the 'action' is a bit shorter too. The large frames take the caspian type mags.

If you only ever plan to shoot 9mm then a small frame or large frame makes little difference. For anything else I'd preference the large frame.

If it's a hand size issue then either frame will feel pretty much the same with the same grips on them.

That makes sense. That's what I thought I was seeing in the comparison pictures. Thanks

  2. You're right about the decocker function: it lowers the hammer to half cock when you depress the lever, then springs back to rest. At that point you can simply pull the trigger for a DA shot, or re cock the hammer with your thumb for a SA shot.

The decocker is a great feature for a carry gun to give you the safety of a DA first shot without having to manually lower the hammer on a live round every time you load up.

Thats what I needed to know. As always thanks for your help!

  3. I've never owned a decocker gun. I know when you flip the decocker lever up the hammer drops to a safety notch. Then what? With the hammer decocked and in a safety notch, do you have to flip the decocker lever down and shoot it double action? Can you pull the trigger with the decocker lever up and make the gun fire? Or when you push the decocker lever down does the hammer go back to single action?

Sorry for all the newby questions. I've never thought about owning a decocker gun but my boss is really looking at a P 01 and I told him I'd get all his questions answered.

    Thanks,

  4. My boss really likes the looks of the CZ P01 9 mm. He will mainly carry this gun in his truck plus some plinking. He won't have any work done to it so it would be out of the box. If anyone has any experience with one please give me some feed back.

    Thanks,

  5. What's something like that worth? The gun is basically new. It comes with the CTS upper and the original upper. It has the flat trigger and basically got the works including the firing pin block removed from Ghost Products. I don't believe it has the short trigger reset. I'm guessing that would be a limited gun with the CTS upper. Just looking to pay a fair price and not over pay in case I would want to keep it.

    Thanks,

  6. The competition frame has checkering on the front and back strap, a square trigger guard, a longer beaver tail, and the ability to easily install a bolt-on magwell. The frame on a Stock I is a little unique in that it has checkering on the front and back strap (slightly different than the competition frame) rather than the typical vertical serrations that are on the regular frames.

I would say the biggest difference between the Stock I and the Limited Pro is that the Stock I has a 4.5" cone/bull barrel, and the Limited Pro has a 4.75" straight barrel with better sights. If I had a choice between the two guns in the same caliber, I would go with the Limited Pro (I have one) since it is legal for both USPSA Production and IDPA SSP or ESP. The cone barrel on the Stock I makes it ineligible for any division of IDPA.

    Thank you!

  7. Stock I is on a regular frame (like a match) has the lo profile adjustable lights (like a match) and a coned barrel

Lim Pro is on a competition frame (like a stockII but with a short dust cover) has a cone barrel and the target type sights

Whats the difference in a regular frame and a competition frame? Thanks for the reply.
